The new KotL solved the biggest issue with the hero while giving him a much better play style, they will never bring back the old spells as it made the hero far worse if you missed his only major power spike
Recall was probably KOTL's most important spell.Why do you think Chen and IO have always been so popular in pro scene? Being able to reposition a team mate on the map can be a huge game changer especially for bringing team mates to fights be it because they were far away or just bought back.It can be literally the deciding factor in team fights.
The scepter bonus was really good too for pushing highground.Its a lot worse now because KOTL has to be stationary for the heal or wave push where he didnt have to be in vision.
You also have the lost extra vision which was really useful especially for stopping potential rosh kills.
The hero's utility now is really awful and he has lost a lot of his mobility in team fights.
Trash tier support now and even the pros know this.
The new ulti i cant say i like.I know we've seen all these vidoes of people being wrekced by his ulti but this was mostly in pub stomping games.In any decent skill bracket this ulti is a poor mans blackhole.It has a larger aoe yes but unlike blackhole it offers 0 damage and just having phase boots or higher than normal movement speed is enough to counter the ulti.The ulti literally forces your team to buy items or drafts to compliment it.
But you can also have an enemy team mate buy drums or have someone pick centaur to save entire team from that ulti.
If you look at blinding light and its importance in team fights by the time its actually really important in team fights is around the same timing as old KOTL would have aghs anyway.
I know that compared to most of the trash posters here that you have a much better comprehension of the game.
The truth is a lot of the people who support new KOTL are noobs who spam pub games and never understood how to play the older version of KOTL.
Like ive said previously in comments about KOTL changes is that its a huge nerf to the hero in skilled paly but a big buff to pub games and noob players.
I actually think this is one of the few heros that got a rework based on pub success rate because it was the only reliable factor to judge it on as even in TI's there are only certain players who specialized the older version of the hero.But what Icefrog failed to understand is what made KOTL great and why there were drafts and starts in pro plays built around allowing him to rush aghs.
I've seen people on the Steam forums complaining about it but I haven't seen any pro players declaring that KOTL is worthless or ruined. In fact, GH who is pretty famous, has done some pretty decent facestomping with new KOTL and he didn't get refresher/octarine until very late game, and he was laying down the butt-whooping long before that.

Also the main factors i see in the fights are pango and rubick skills which are moving enemy back into willow.Also a lot of these kills are 3 or 2 vs1 situations which further covers my point about it clearly being a pub game.you can see there is zero team work on enemy team.This is actually the bigger deciding factor in GH 'wrecking' other players.Not his only personal skills
GH is a pretty well known player in professional Dota.[liquipedia.net] And why wouldn't a pro player use teamwork? I don't get how working with your team makes it not count. Of course KOTL is supposed to work with his team.
