Details and HIDING your Match history
Guys, I know that we can not hide our match data, unfortunatelly, now everyone can find out when we play and what we play. Going to offline mode is not much, because if your friend will see you offline whole day, but check your match history, he will find out you was playing an hour ago. That's right! There is actually TIME SHOWED! When you played your game, what is your oppinion about this? Is it really necessary to show that specific details? Not just date but even time has to be showed there so then "offline" or "invisible" mode is completelly useless?

Why do you care so much about your match history that you're wanting to delete it though.

Crazy thought, just be upfront with your Steam friends and tell them when you don't feel like partying. Let them know if you're playing in offline/invis mode that you're not looking to party. Simple.

i agree with op, however, it's still a game and your steam identity shouldn't be linker to you in real life, so, aso other said, just tell the truth to those people...

It's not, the only way it ever will be is if you enter your IRL info onto your profile.

Well,there is a way to counter them.Which is really stupid imo.

Op your issue doesnt seem to be with the system.But more so with your friend by the sounds of it.
The key to friendship is honesty and if you choose to play with other friends or just want to play solo your friend should respect that.You shouldnt feel the need to hide offline or lie to your friend.
Its only a game after all.

@op - Did you find a solution? I also want to do this. Block someone so I will appear offline for days and match history will not show.

P.S. I am not hiding from my colleague that i'm late or absent because im playing.

Then block them or set your client to invisible. As long as you have them set as a friend, they will see you if you are both playing Dota 2. Also, if you're playing matches on public servers then...well...they're obviously public.

Im pretty sure that the person that hiding from his friends and friends who checking match history to see the precise time you played ,and then compline about the fact that u do that, are in really friendly and healthy relations.

ppl can still go to the 3rd party website and see that you played(unless you have special option marked,but thats a 2 edged sword since it will prevent you from keeping track on your progress) and your game will steal appear in the watch tab.There is no way of ultimate hiding.
