What do you think about Exclusive Arcana?

I feel dissapointed when they announced Earthshaker Arcana is being bundled in the Battle Pass. Which I was wating it for couple of year. My plan is to invest my next purchase for an Arcana this month and Battlepass 2020

(BECAUSE 2020 is a Special Number)
Next year and I like ES to have arcana for a very long time.

And my question is why Arcana is getting exclusivity specially with IO & Earth Shaker Arcana?

I woud rather suggest calling it "Exclusive Items" or maybe calling it "Majestic" instead of Arcana or Immortal color coding it with Neon Orange to have its own rarity. It never should be in the battle pass anyways its infuriating that you would spend to get 300+ levels just to obtain it, and only to obtain "ONE"


Is this how you invite new players in the game its so ♥♥♥ up "I ain't whinning" but its a large paywall to obtain such items compare to other Arcanas and I don't know if my £500 would be worth spending.

If the arcanas coming with the battle pass would be a class of their own Valve would miss the chance to address all the „must have them all“ collectors. This is basic marketing with all trading cards stuff. Have just one or two of the entire complete collection very rare or hard to obtain and the collectors will get mad to get them anyway and afterwards being proud to belong to the real hard collector group including the exclusive arcanas.

No one is having difficulty understanding what the OP is saying or why they are saying it. It is the OP having difficulty understanding and accepting what they are being told in response.

In that difficulty the OP thinks by whinging and regurgitating the same point that they will make a difference. They won't. Not in changing Arcana's being tied to BP levels nor in the spenders wanting their purchases not being made common through sale in the general market or Steam store.

This is a video game and the OP has every opportunity to make the same purchase others do. There is no injustice and using that type of language serves no point.

The only way you lose a chance in getting the Arcana is when you choose not to purchase the required levels to get the TI exclusive. It is a personal choice not a policy preventing them from attaining it. There is no entitlement to all Arcana's being $30 and BP exclusive ones are not.

What they put in the battle pass is up to them. What I can state affirmatively is that having exclusive Arcana's in the battle pass compels me to reach the level to attain them. Without such a nice reward I would stop spending much sooner. But they know that which is why the Arcana is and will be there. They want huge prize pools for their International and that is how they achieve it. Treasures are simply not enough.

Your opinion on what is acceptable or not acceptable for people to spend has no relevance. It's just your opinion and frankly a ridiculous one. Who are you to tell anyone what is acceptable for them to spend or for what a company can seek for their product?

Supply and demand determine how much something is worth. As of now Valve seems to have no issue getting the price they want for their product.

Well because knowing your opinion would either change my view whether I would grasp about your ideas and accepting that your maybe right. So couple of questions might do.

So are you satisfy with your purchase?

Are you happy with methods on how you contribute and do you feel forced to do so?

Do you accept Dota 2 ways of marketing items?

Because more likely in the future, Prize Pool would have its own peak, because more demands for players to buy Battlepasses in upcoming years. Because the less player would participate and likely the prize pool would drop. If so changes could be made or not.Specially buying battle pass alone is not enough unless you spend huge sum to get the top prize.

All of this just saying that thank you, and your all tied in the hands of Valve apparently.

The item is not being marketed, clearly....as if it was then we wouldn't have to watch you lose your ♥♥♥♥ over not being able to afford to reach the unlock.

Oh and as for your "huge spending in game" thing....funnily enough you're not just spending all of that money to only receive the Arcana, you get numerous treasures and other in game rewards.

Because I always think Arcana is more valuable than Compendium and it should not be part in the Battle Pass.

Then now Arcana in Battle Pass would be the same as a rare Fortnite Skin unless it becomes marketable.

I like exclusive items as I can obtain them without much hassle. If my financial situation had been much worse/or if i were in my school days where I had very little money, I would have hated the exclusive items. We live in a world where the division between poor and those who have is constantly increasing. People just need to accept it. From a poor persons perspective the exclusive items is the devil himself. If you have the money, you do not care.

You all have to remember, Valve is a company and does not care about anyone or anything except money. A company is not your friend, you are just a resource to them. A resource they try to milk dry. That is the sad state of the world in which we live.

It is also the players fault for this culture. People pre order games and buy cosmetics for such amounts that the companies have leeched themselves onto the players in hopes of draining every drop of blood from their bodies. The more you give the more they try to get away with. And the people who are at fault here is the players as they pre order/buy game items without thinking about the consequences.

Valve has exclusive items because they can get away with it. So if you hate exclusive items, do not buy cosmetic items/battle pass. That is the only way to force companies to change the way they do their business.

Look, none of your whining will change the fact that the Arcana is in the Battlepass, none of your thoughts or opinions will make a difference so either buy the battlepass and rank it up or accept that you'll never own the item.
Looking at your inventory also makes me question why you're even complaining so much when you have obviously not contributed much/if anything to the game financially.

In answer to your repetitive "Am I okay with it question"
Yes I am fine with it, hence why I bought the battlepass and levelled it up....just as I have done every year.

Firstly it is £140 to get to that level, secondly it isn't a cash grab as the funds are going towards the TI9 prizepool and lastly if you don't feel it is worth spending money on to obtain why even complain in the first place?
