Have they removed strict solo queue matchmaking?
I can't see it in advanced options>miscellaneous.

playerbase getting too small for that option. queue times were taking too long.

Yes they did and people want it back.

Yea strict solo que was where it was at for me
Ranked only, solo que only

Then ranked roles happened, I didn't play ranked roles in Dota+ for a reason
It was forced onto me then removed my solo que

and now I'm in low prio shadow pool hell
Not that im completely innocent but still

My last memorable match I really enjoyed was a rapier feed save at 7k behavior score
Rock 'n' Roll DotA kekW

Maybe Valve thinks about it when/if they remove ranked roles, which I think won‘t happen. I guess Valve is working on a unified MOBA where LoL and Dota2 are not distinguishable anymore but by the cosmetics/looks of map and heroes. LoL also has ranked roles and no strict solo queue. You see the similarities?

LoL has sort of "strict solo queue" as Ranked Solo/Duo
If you wish to play ranked as full party then Ranked flex here it is which has it's own MMR.

Sounds like dota 2 are trying to unify a dying community by annoying more people? :ghlol:

„Sort of“ is not strict solo queue. It includes Duos. That‘s what I mean, in LoL you can expect to meet parties of 2 even if you queue solo.

Could be. Maybe people should be more cautious in what they wish. Mostly unwanted side effects are not considered.

uhm... i'd like to point out the obvious here.

strict solo matchmaking, mattered when there was solo mmr and party mmr, mainly b/c party mmr was for goofing around and no one took party mmr seriously. meanwhile if being placed with someone with solo queue, it could ruin his mmr since two(or more) people were just messing around.

since they removed solo mmr and party mmr, people who are partied, now must take the game more seriously, or risk their actual mmr.

so in all honesty there's no reason to have strict solo queue anymore, the only reason it would even have a purpose right now is to prevent the enemy team to having someone roughly 1.4k mmr higher than you on their team. but if it's on your team, it's welcome, no?

(you can party with ppl 2.8k mmr higher than you, and it puts roughly the middle number of your two mmr's, as opponents and teammates.)
but this also means if you have a friend 2.8k mmr higher than you, who needs to higher a booster when your friend can just carry you to 5k? =P

I don't care about mmr just good games with other solo players. It's obvious when you're are against a party and it just ruins a whole 45/60 minutes of enjoyment and even with the extra coordination they stomp but don't finish early and they drag it out as long as possible.

So, you don‘t care about mmr and fear higher competition (higher gaming quality) due to duos in your solo queue? Then the question is, why do you queue for ranked, which is meant to be for more competitive players?

First of I do care about my MMR
I don't fear to lose matches to partying players
Im not against playing with or against duos, but my experience with duos is either they play a lane together or they aren't that useful
Playing against a bad duo in the offlane is a free win because they tilt out if they lose their lane even when they party kekW

Yes I would like to play ranked only, strict solo que only

But personal conduct score gets in my way

removing solo queue only makes sense, since dota isn't a solo game.

the dev team from dota 2 is obviously making a bold statement, THIS IS A TEAM GAME.

then again, how do you think the 6k players feel when pro's can now team up in a 2 or 3 stack? imagine being on the enemy team of that.
