Can my Unranked Hidden MMR be higher than my Ranked MMR?

Was just thinking about practicing some carrys in unranked before I play them in Ranked.

The last time I played Unranked was probably before they had Ranked. Just wondering if the games may be significantly different in terms of skill because my Unranked MMR will most likely be a lot higher, but, idk.

i guess it is. i haven't played ranked for like 2 seasons and just while ago did my first calibration match. i was placed against people with legend rank. i never reached legend before so thats kinda weird. the highest i've ever been is archon 3 i think but thats like 3 seasons ago.

you can't. its shadow mmr.. even if you never calibrated for ranking, the system is still keeping track of your games and finding you opponents of similar skill.

Rank medal does not equal MMR. Valve has clearly stated that matchmaking is based on numerical MMR not rank medals. Additionally, there is a certain level of variance in matchmaking and MMR spread between teams so it is not unusual to be matched with players a rank bracket above or below your own. Also, since rank medals were rebalanced with the new season, there is less of a difference between Archon 3 and Legend.

Your mmr is hidden only before calibration. Then it becomes your real mmr.
