Is there anything you can do with Phantom Lancer if you don't have any counter picks? He just pops up at the last pick and solo wins every game I've seen him in

How to stop *heroname* if u havent counters?
Especially vs pl u can buy mael/shivas/hex/etc to controll him, buy glimer/force/eul/ghost to dodge him. Pl usually rushing manta/diffus and when u havent mana hes dealing less dmg. Ask ur tanky buy crimson and pl will be a creep till he got 4-6 slots.

There are few ways u can stop him with a hero who isn't a counter , but u need to be faster then pl in casting items and surprising him

Buy Orchid, Null and Hex

Any item that has AoE benefits works against PL... Maelstrom/Mjolnir/Battlefury/Shiva's guard.

Pl illusion are the weakest in the game. Get radiance. Look carefully for the illusion that his health hard to deplete. There he is. One rage irl player. Plus battlefury he will end up like the end of your name.

Pick PL, and observe how people stop you

Literally anything that hits more than one thing, like Mjollnir, Maelstrom, Battle Fury, Meteor Hammer, any AOE ability, Radiance, etc. You can also silence him with Orchid/Bloodthorn or a hero ability to prevent him from spawning illusions.

PL's strengths lie PURELY in his numbers. Deal with that and he's more than manageable.

to beat the PL, you must become the PL

1) don't let him farm
2) finish the match fast. At least, your carry must get his important items before pl and then you gotta end it.
3) ganks.
