Why did they kill jungling?
Used to be my favorite role. I loved the race against the other jungler back in the old days.

Because they hate the players. It used to be that you could just jungle and furion and win the game on your own, regardless of what your allies did. It gave people the power to actually win despite the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ matchmaking, and so they removed it.

Face it, valve hates us, and hates this game. They're just doing this for the money, they don't actually care if anyone likes this program or not.

As for me, its left me trapped in elo hell with no hope of escaping. I haven't actually logged on in two days now, because actually getting anywhere is clearly futile. I just keep getting thrown deeper and deeper into elo hell, which causes my chances of escaping it to continue to drop. And since I can't just jungle as furion, I have no way to escape. This program has become completely unplayable to me, and valve couldn't care less.

Never trust a AAA company, EVER. Even if a program is geniunely free to play, don't play it. If they're giving it away for free, they clearly have ulterior motives in mind.

They nerfed jungling because it promoted not caring about lanes. It wasn't even that much about the 'jungler' role because nobody even really played that outside of very low brackets. But carry being able to lose lane super hard and then coming back farming jungle with Talon super quickly was not a great game design. Now winning lanes is more rewarding, while you are still able to farm jungle to have a chance for a comeback.

It sacrificed team play and doesn't exactly allow for your lanes to go well unless you have a strong offlaner, its also a crutch for some players who aren't used to contesting last hits and dealing with harassment in the lane. That and the creep bounty nerfs don't make it worthwhile, even back then it wasn't really great, jungle should really be left for recovery and maximizing farm across the map, instead of letting some pepeg who wanted to play core to have his way.

Back in the old days of Dota, few things grinded my gears more than seeing all lanes full, then the lastpick takes jungler so he doesn't have to support.

Even worse was going support and then being forced to play the safe lane solo because someone wanted to jungle while still being expected to do support duties.

Take that time to farm for item and exp since you cant even get gold while laning phase.

The problem with the current meta and downfall of jungling is players become terribly reliant on others. Last time when 1v3 offlane was the meta... offlaners stood at their tower for 5 whole minutes at times. (I've always felt they should just jungle at that point)

I've seen clever people handle offlanes 1v3 by gathering creeps and dying to tower.

I'm a great jungler myself, I 100% can outlevel mid solo at times. Sure does slowdown other lanes, but I'm sure they can handle just fine if they are good players.

This was pre 7.00 and back then I couldn't last hit to save my life, even now I can only manage 50ish LH/10min with free farm.

I find it hard to believe, wanna do a test in lobby? I'll farm mid lane and one mider medium camp while you can farm jungle with a guarantee of not being interrupted, we'll see who gets outleveled.

I don't think there is anything to be clever about, 1v3 is literally unplayable and whoever doesn't completely destroy a 3v1 should be ashamed of themselves.

Yeah there's a reason the offlane was referred to as the suicide lane for the longest time

Personally I miss it but it definitely catered towards the low-skilled side of players and balance in Dota is aimed at the very higher tier pubs and pro games.

Because you could easily win the game in 25 minutes solo as strong junglers with pushing capabilities like Luna, Mirana or LC if you were any good at pulling. They removed Talon and nerfed jungle and all relevant skills (Luna passive, Mirana arrow cd etc) so if you were matched with trash team you couldn't carry the game. TBH i had 70%+ winrate with this strat, especially after they killed roam, so it was quite OP, but canning it altogether made the game duller.
