A good example I was going to use, all sk has to do is move and bam wasted ult.
Have you seen Melee Caster? When Techies use that spell, If the target couldn't die, they surely die, why, there will be melee Tank or Carry. So, Silence is useless.
I agree what you say that damage done should be same as HP consumed. Or % of HP. It should directly ratio to HP by %. Because that spell used 50% of HP of Techies.

SK is balanced and has been for a while. Channel out of sight -> blink has been around since the beginning of DotA. Now that he has Aghanim he doesn't even need blink anymore.

We are talking about a slow hero which has no other option to even try to defend himself. If SK gets interrupted he still has a blink-like ability and an invis spell that can disjoint stuff. And yes it is stupid to drag SK into this discussion with such examples.

So what exactly is unbalanced about Techies? He can use this ability to initiate and drop at least one or more mines before he dies, assuming the enemy is even attacking him. Get Force Staff if you want an escape, or Eul's to keep the enemy off your back for a few seconds if you need. Yes as a method of suicideing to get out of ganks it's not as easy any more (you can still suicide with it if you're below 50% health) but it's gained utility in it's increased mobility.
I am a regular Techies player. Right now his win rate has increased to around 50% (and I am owning these days due to all casuals coming to play while on holidays), but frankly many players have no idea how he works.

Opponents are:
- using sentries to "counter" Proximity mines (multiple times)
- trying to purposefully walk between 2 mines thinking they will not explode if not stepped on (verified it via Player Perspective in a replay)
- have no idea he can actually jump on them now so they get killed thinking he needs to walk closer to suicide (verified via replay, the guy sees Techies but is not worried, then gets jumped on and killed instantly)

So his win rate will probably drop a bit after a while. Fixing Blast Off would help keep him closer to 50%.

No it isn't. Cooldown is 35s, cast time is 1s (so says wiki but in practice it is a bit longer). Those handicaps do not in any way require an additional one, especially since it is not exactly easy to hit a non-stunned target with it.
The damage is only inflicted on impact and travel time is part of the abilitly if you get interrupted it should cancel it and put the ability on cd, it's part of balance. It's actually really easy to land, it has a big aoe radius, range, low cd, a silence and big damage.
he still has stun mine and normal mine and his ult right ? so he can jump into the enemy team plant a stun mine q mine and then throw his ult mine ? with basic co-ordination it makes a teamfight techie more viable prefer this techie to the old one

For clarification his W is a root now, not a stun.
I found that in practice you don't have time for that. You just jumped into the enemy team, you are a Techies and have removed a good chunk of your hp. You die REALLY fast to right clicks (like, one from each and you are dead).

I'm pretty sure those two are the same account just sock-puppeting to hijack threads. Neither of them even play DotA.
