What's the difference between inscribed and genuine set?

I'm planning to buy a Slark set and I found this particular set. It comes with three types. Genuine, Inscribed, and well I think the other one is the "regular" version. The cheapest is the inscribed although the price difference between the "regular" one isn't that much. However, the genuine is like thrice the price. So what's the difference between the three? I'm talking about the effects/color/etc. when you're in-game because that's what I only care about.

inscribed means "have gems". genuine means set, getted from some special event. or something like that.. compendieums, giveaway event IRL etc. it's not about gems at all.

Inscribed means it has a gem on it, genuine means it's a limited item.

The inscribed would keep track of whatever gem it has on it, like "Kills" or "Gold earned" or "number of roshan kills". But other then that, it's completely the same.

the price. you can always remove the gem or add new ones if you want to.

maybe, BUT first check the individual set parts, I understand you are talking about purchasing a bundle like this

NO MATTER THE QUALITY OF THE ITEM, IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME INGAME
excepting the recently released infused/non-infused, where the infused one has ambience effects with particles
base, inscribed, genuine looks exactly the same, inscribed parts have counters like essence stolen, enemies leashed, kills, etc, but they can also contain trashy gems like couriers or wards purchased (almost useless on a carry)
as i said, better buy the single parts, and if you want them inscribed, choose the ones with gems you might like (kills, assists, hero gems, maybe dusted enemies, godlike sprees)

tip: an inscribed bundle gives you a random part of the set inscribed with the specified gem, while the other parts come clean out of the bundle

some gems btw, can give different animations. keep an eye for those things as well.

those are KINETIC GEMS, and the only one I know in slark is POUNCE OF THE SILENT RIPPER, ONLY FOUND IN SILENT RIPPER WEAPON AS WELL AS SOME IMMORTALS (skady and hidrakan latch) these last mentioned only socketed by users
OP will not find a set or part with such kinetic gem at base market price, but only in overpriced stuff

i have one for sven that changes his attack animations. "free to fear" something like that. pretty sure I also have one for doom... nature's profit have one as well, but i'm not sure.

actually, lots of heroes have kinect gems that can change some sort of animation. i'm just saying this because these gems also take a slot and some people might put them in the market still with those gems.

my luminous blade, for sven, i bought from the community market. it came with the free to fear gem.

I think you missed the part where OP mentioned he wants to buy A SLARK SET, he doesn't need to know about kinetics for heroes HE DOESN'T WANT
you also missed the part where I said there's only 1 kinetic gem FOR SLARK, I DONT GIVE A F ABOUT KINETIC GEMS FOR OTHER HEROES, OP didn't ask for that
