Seasonal Ranked Update
http://blog.dota2.com/2017/11/seasonal-ranked-update/

Q: WTF Volvo stole my MMR?
A: No, it is used for the recalibration so what you had before will largely affect your new rank even if you feed horribly in the 10 matches. You can still view your MMR on your stats page.

Q: Is this a new matchmaking?
A: Valve have said nothing about any changes to how matchmaking works so we should assume it's the same.

Q: My MMR is lower despite doing well in calibration, why?
A: MMR in general was moved towards 2k with players further away getting a larger change.

Estimate for MMR (new) to medals;
  1. Herald 1 - 839
  2. Guardian 840 - 1709
  3. Crusader 1710 - 2579
  4. Archon 2580 - 3449
  5. Legend 3450 - 4319
  6. Ancient 4320 - 5189
  7. Divine 5190 - 6055+

i dont get it, someone just wants a little privacy , but you're just using your reasons as some kind of universal fact, and i don't really think that you get matched with people with exactly same level as yours in normal matches based on my opinion/experience, i've encountered many smurfs or newbies in normal matches and that was the main reason i've stopped playing normal and went for ranked.

I don't get what your problem is. If you want privacy then make your Steam profile private. If you don't want people to know your rank in Dota then don't play ranked. If you really want "privacy" then don't play Dota at all.

If it's such a huge problem for you or anyone else then just play some other competitive, online game that "hides" your ranking.

my problem? wowowow hey i'm just curious as i've said, i'm talking about dota and you suddenly jump over into privacy in everything? that guy made a point, before this new system you could've hide your mmr so no one could see it, now it's out in the obvious with no option to hide it, again its not my problem i'm just curious.

You brought it up. The "old system" didn't hide your rank. It showed the mmr of the player with the highest mmr on both teams. If your mmr wasn't shown then obviously your mmr was lower. If you're playing in normal skill matches, it's pretty obvious what your mmr is. Anyone with half a brain cell could figure out your mmr.

There are two types of Dota 2 players. Professional players who get paid to play Dota 2...and people who don't. Legitimate professional players make up less than 1% of the active playerbase. Anyone who is crying about their rank being shown on their in-game profile needs to get over themselves. So what if you suck? You're gonna get matched with people who suck as much as you do. If that's your biggest argument against the new system, then job well done Valve.

I am a low mmr player and always hide my mmr score or ratings whatever is that, but the medals will surely expose low mmr players because you cannot hide it. This is discrimination.

this is the person who brought it up.

Kid? You're cute.

Who did I insult exactly? If you're going to cry about your rank being shown on your in-game profile (or play some pointless devil's advocate forum game over it) then obviously YOU are insecure about your rank. That's no one's problem but your own. When you queue for matches, you're gonna get matched with people in your skill bracket so what's the problem? Is some 1k player gonna call some other 1k player "1k scum?"

You're just arguing for the sake of arguing about something.

are you blind? i said i'm not the efng person who was talking about privacy, what is wrong with you? really why are you so mad? Am i'm arguing or you over something that is your fault, which is the ability to find out who are you talking to?
