Why do only a few people play as beastmaster?

I'm really decent when I play as him, definitly able to hold my own & help out the team, often swinging early game in favor of my team by like 5 kills

He requires to much micro for a lot of pub-players, kind of like Chen.

Everytime I see someone pick him I fear for my kdr.

All his usefullness seems to evaporate when I have the controls though.

ppl especially in PUB SEA trash want to be killer , beast is not true killer, he just like maybe slardar , support offlaner . the micro is not that hard.

bm is a very strong hero if you play him right, i'm not good at micro, i don't like to play heroes that i can't have 100% control feels like a waste, unless i got no choice, so i don't play him much, scout with his bird is an important part of being a good bm player

You dont really need much micro on beastmaster, visage needs more micro, or chen. Beastmaster boar is good enough used as a compliment of the hero with the extreme slow, and necronomicons are already useful enough in <4k matches without need of the archer mana burn. All you need is to have a custom key for selecting all your units. The eagle can be used in a pacific moment so no need to big micro skills.

Maybe I can just micro beastmaster better than most because I usually play as him or lone druid

His micro isn't difficult, but it's tedious.
He's a weak hero atm that sucks in lane and has pretty underpowered skills other than hawk and ult.
Necro book has fallen hugely out of favour, I don't really know why, but few people build it anymore. Hotd was probs nerfed a bit much too.

There're just so many better offlaners at the moment.

He is fun to play, but you also get annoying teammates that don't know what he's supposed to do, so it makes it hard.

Tedious micro, not strong ernough to deal with the high power safelaners like veno, ult is cool and he has great ratting power, but there are heroes with better anti-bkb skills and better ratters.
