why Pudge don't play mid anymore?

has the meta changed or is it because I just started playing this game that Pudge isn't going mid anymore?

Pudge doesn't real profit well from the mid position in comparison to dedicated mid heroes like Invoker. So, when it comes to the typical "negotiations" about who mid, Pudge player lack some arguments.

well back in 2014 pudge always went mid. did so much change since then?

Sorry, but there are very popular heroes which have much higher presence in mid but the 32% of Pudge, e.g. Tinker, Invoker, shadow Fiend, Templar Assasin, Storm Spirit (all over 80% presence in mid).

No he's just useless!! Its better to play tinker,invoker,lina,viper,medusa,necro,death prophet and other heroes because they got strong dmg and can scale well into the mid and late game.. and pudge as a support is 100% better than a mid pudge..

Why is this then? Is it because of the items Valve added/balanced or buffs on the other heroes?

I used to play mid pudge, but the more i play pudge mid the more i thought that mid pudge isnt a good think, and now i play offlane pudge, always roam to get pasive stack, trust me roamer pudge is the right ways to play ,but it depends on the situation, sometimes i play pudge mid as well,if there isnt mid hero😂

pudge was once mid due to hook being pretty useless till rank 4 (aka lvl 7) but now that even rank 1 hook is useful he can be played more aggressivly earlier

Short answer; because he doesn't do well at mid. Support pudge can work but mid will often just lose the lane then end up playing the role of a roaming support anyway.

Because Icefrog buffed every hero to start with 1k hp now so Pudge can't actually kill anyone anymore solo, making mid Pudge a complete waste.
