cannot watch live game

im trying to watch the live liquid v planet odd game and when i click on the watch game tab it starts to load then just sits there with the black screen with red dota logo in the middle with the game timer bar at the bottom...it can sit 10 mins like that then discconects...any ideas?

Don't know about your problem in client but if it is still a problem you could watch it in twitch.

yea i was watching in twitch thanks but would be nice to watch in better 1080p,i finally managed to get into the game to watch after 50 minutes of trying lol

Yeah I was coming here to make the same post. Game just sits on the loading screen and will not connect. Def a client or server problem.

Did some testing and it seems to only occur with certain matches, seems to be a localization problem with regions.

its an annoying problem
open console while trying to connect to the match
see the lines an notice if a blue/cyan line says "server timed out..."
as soon as this line appears type the "disconnect" comand to get out of that never ending connection attempt (it can take 10+ minutes before auto disconnecting you)

->try to connect again ->use disconnect command again ->repeat 2x - 6x times
sooner or later you will get into the match (usually in less than 5 minutes)

this doesnt solve the problem (as it is a server problem) but will help you get into the match you want to espectate in shorter time

by the way you all should be thankful you only have this issue spectating matches
many users have problems connecting to their matches which lead to penalizations and 24h bans
and the worst cases (like mine) include a permanent 30% - 70% packet loss that makes the game absolutely unplayable
its been 17+ days already since the problem started

I think I understand this problem.
If you want to watch the game; If you are on a suitable server (no ping problem)
"You can watch the game."

The other server does not allow monitoring.

Hey there, I am having the same problem. I tried the console and connecting/disconnecting it works out. So now I can watch but it may take some time to get connected.

The error I get says:

Any idea what may be causing this?

i have same problem with live match load .i am sure valve must fix something in live match spectacle
