Dota 2

Micro Freezing/Sluttering/Spikes playing online
I was running Dota 2 perfectly (200+ fps with high video quality) but recently I'm getting micro freezing like spikes of 0.5 seconds every 30 seconds. Is making the game unplayable.
I already did a lot of things to try fix the issue like reinstalling the GPU driver. Reinstalling Dota 2. Changing video quality options inside dota and in NVIDIA control panel, etc.
Looks like is only happening in Dota 2. I have played Starcraft II,Overwatch and Rocket League without a problem. I just noticed that the GPU starts working a lot and making a buzzing sound when I open the battle pass menu or when the heroes selection phase starts.

Specs:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE AORUS Z270X GAMING 7
RAM: G.SKILL TRIDENT Z RGB 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3000
GPU: ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 1080 8 GB
Processor: INTEL CORE I7 7700K
Power Supply: SEASONIC M12II-750

Any help will be appreciated.

I feel the same way few days ago, it was fine for me too 60fps and now getting 20-30 with stuttering, dunno what's wrong..

I checked the GPU usage and its fine but when the spike ocurrs jumps to 0% or 1%.
Check your hard drive / network performance.

Run check disk and disk defrage (if your main drive is a spinning disk)

I noticed some people having issues by MSI afterburner that runs on the background...

Honestly, most of the applications that run like this should be uninstalled. I haven't had any issues with them on my laptop, but I don't keep any crap like this on my desktop.

There's just no need. So make sure you uninstall the software that runs like this.

No, I know you haven't, I'm just saying to OP, that this is bloatware. It's just there to be annoying.
