Dota2 contains virus?
so i was updating the latest pattch and suddenly my anti virus (premium avira) detected a trojan virus from dota 2.

the odd thing about this is that my PC is fully reformated( all partitions are wiped) 20 hours ago and the only apps that i installed was Avira Premium, Win rar(CD), Chrome and downloaded Steam for Dota2 and Warframe. i fully downloaded dota 2 and about 2-3 hours an update appeared, like 235mb file update.. when im about to update dota 2 my anti virus detected a trojan virus. pls check this patch, and i dont want to update dota 2 unless dota 2 files are clean coz im about to transfer my buisness files to this PC.

here is the image:

Please resolve this...

TLDR; PC fully reformated(partitions wiped), Dota2 update contains virus.

Also if you wanna be REALLY sure that it's not a virus, go download this https://www.malwarebytes.com and run a scan.

even if it is, i cant risk transfering my buisness files in this computer... so i paused the update for now until a new update enters.

you know, small things like this dosent matter to you.. but for a person who has a JOB does... so....

Soooo, your playing Dota on a laptop you use for your business. And sometimes maybe your playing Dota during business hours :D Relax, yes your Avira might react as it detects a prog trying to make changes. What it does not know is that it is Dota. Make sure Dota has access in your firewall and in Avira settings as friendly/allow access.

don't use laptop that is meant for work to play games.

it is a very bad mistake.

if next time your laptop that is used for work really got virus, malware, adware, spyware, keylogger......etc.

you will get into serious trouble with your company you working for since that particular computer contains all those important documents for the company you working for.

Antivir does it from time to time with a new Steam patch e.g. I have to refresh the exception settings in Antivir and it works again.

My security software quaranteened the file. I guess I can't play dota anymore?
