You accept finding match, but cant connect to it and recieve a ban

title, please fix valve wtf, thats happen to many people, i tried 5 games, 4 of them 2+ people cant connect, and at last i cant as well, do something

2020 upd: there is no real fix, just dont play for 1-3 days until valve fix that
its clearly something with valve servers (maintance works, updates, etc stuff they never annouce)
You can try to reinstall game, for someone it solve the issue

Just happened to me, hit accept but didnt get to loading screen. kept clicking reconnect but it wouldnt, hit the 15 min ban mark and im gettin pissed!

This has started to happen to me lately. I have AT&T Gigabit Fiber, living in the Austin area (ping 38, no loss). I am watching a match right now, but I cannot connect to a game. I played a few earlier on Saturday and put several hours in between my last failure and the current one. I now have the 1 hour ban. Perhaps someone at Valve will eventually take a look at this?

I'm pretty sure is not my connection or anything on my side. I uninstalled dota/reinstalled, download updates for all windows and dota, clear all caches for network/dota, internet connection running almost 400 mbps, download update drivers for graphic cards/wifi and still cannot connect to game! 1 hour ban every time I try to search; it would let me accept, but once everyone is highlighted it says "Connecting".

As for years, only a smaller part of the timeout problems with server/client handshaking are caused by Valve's servers or client hard- and software. A lot of problems come from the millions of different (and mostly not professionally maintained) client systems and sometimes from internet connection/provider issues. Cluster of incidents often appear after provider issues or software updates (typically Windows updates). Everybody is asked to look for failures in their own responsibility (client machine hard- and software).

And for the bans: The connection between the server and your client machine is considered as unstable/not reliable and you may impede the games of other players with no issues. Thus ban or not, you couldn't play anyway in a reliable manner.

I got the same problem even though i have fine network connection, the game didn't allow me to reconnect. And there is one time when i already in the game, but couldn't pick any hero, in the picking phase, and i got 1 abandon game for that.

Try selecting US East only. I usually have US West and East selected as my servers, but after getting 5 freaking fail to accept issues, I went ahead and unselected US West to see if that was the issue, well I was finally able to join multiple games without an issue.

This is an issue with Dota Servers and not our ISPs as some people have tried to claim.
