How to mute everyone? I'll tell you how.
Since the 7.00 update, the checkbox option to Mute All Chat disappeared. You can still mute players ingame, but it won't stop them from PING spamming toy, though.

There, just enter my name in your DotA console and press ENTER. I'm this magical. <3

Thanks.

I still think muting everyone at the start of the game is a terrible idea.

On the strategy side of things... yes, it is. But it has so much benefits:

- No more rage
- No more toxic
- No more death threats
- No more Petubians

Why not just mute individually the first time they do one of those things?

Yeah- even having one person that you can coordinate with often makes the game much easier and more fun; if you mute everyone before the game even starts why are you bothering playing online at all?

The game doesn't allow to mute during hero selection. By muting everyone, I even avoid getting cancer from reading their text chat.

3 Reports and 2 Commends in Ranked in the last 25 games since I muted everyone. Muting everyone is the KEY!

well i'd report you for muting everyone for nothing in a game where communication is key, if you dont want to communicate go play with bots

Lots of people complain that they play to many matches with people who don't speak their language- well I think this is part of the problem.

IMO there should be a "muted" language preference, where no one can talk. Let the people who want to be antisocial go off and play on their own, but don't make the rest of use play with them.

Most people don't speak English or are toxic. What's the point of chatting when no ones can understand you or won't listen to you?

It's like 'I almost got killed because of food choking, thus I will never eat again.'

I'm not saying you shouldn't mute individual people on occasion, but muting everyone before you even find out what kind of player they are is just silly.

I wonder what mmr you guys are in.

Anyway, if you are in the 2-3k mmr trench, you would know you lose/win most games because of flame, not because of draft, not because how ppl play, but just because some person on either team did not agree with a item choice of his teammate.

You thinking how does this change the outcome of the game ? - Simple !

Player who does not agree starts name calling, the player with the item in question loses focus, gets tilted, etc, and suddenly not only does he have 1 bad item, he now also plays worse.

THIS is how 2-3k mmr games go... usually... Every game i win i hear "report player X, he build item Y", every game i lose the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing..

Muting EVERYONE ensures YOU dont get tilted, YOU dont lose focus because someone else does not agree with a item choice or what ever toxic ♥♥♥♥ ppl complain about.

Dota has become such a drama club that muting everyone, atleast in the 2-3k mmr trench, is very very wise.

3 reports and 2 commends is still bad. I don't mute anybody and my typical summary report is 0 reports and 5 commends. Good behaviour and positive attitude is the KEY!
