Difference between Cards?

What is the difference between Blue and Silver fantasy player cards? Are there any benefits to having one color over the other or having both? I would like to know before I end up recycling my duplicates for dust.

You should be recycling duplicates no matter what; they're useless.
Silver cards provide additional points during the dream team competition. How many points and what requirements need to be met for said points are specified on the card.

Silver and Gold colored cards have various stats that will earn you bonus points; if you have a silver or gold version of a card, you can instantly recycle all the blue-card versions for that player. However each silver and gold card will have different bonuses, so if you've got duplicates of silver or gold cards, you should read through them and see what the bonuses are, and discard the least useful. For example, a bonus for "wards bought" is more useful on a support players' card than on a carry players' card.
