I FIXED this!!!
I was getting 15-75% packet loss during fights.

I highly recommend:
switching out all cables that you are using,
PC to switch
Switch to Router
Use different NIC on computer

I fixed my problem when I swapped my cable for a second time on my PC. The first and second cable to used was working, but not up to scratch.

Make sure all of your cables and equipment is in very good working order.

an ethernet Cat 5/6 cable working for web browsing does NOT mean it's good enough for gaming like Dota 2.

I have no problems anymore.

What you are describing is an isolation test and is standard for most pc and internet issues. Not disagreeing or anything, just easier if people can name the technique when they are googling or talking to tech support.

Cheats I think some using on the game makes this happen it only happens at crucial times so check the player perspective play on replay and report to steam if you notice anything unusual.

no such thing as a packet loss cheat.

scripts and macros are the norm

So you condone scripts? And it’s not you playing if the scripts are doing everything for you like gold farming last hits etc.

ur not reading what I said. every single game can have macros/scripts used. infact, macros are allowed in dota too as long as 1 button = 1 action. no such thing as packet loss cheat.

Macros and scripts are used in nearly every pc game. As they only mimic keystrokes they are near, impossible to detect. Not much you can do to get an advantage with them in a game like dota. Mayby macro pudges combo or something.

Scripts can't do anything macros don't do without modifying game code in a way that would get detected.

Are you the only person on the network?
Anything running in the background?
Hws the weather (im serious)?
How long are your dsl and ethernet cables?
if wireless, how far away?
is this the only game it affects?

I found smth that fixed it for me:

Just like so many other people I had a high packet loss (~50%) JUST in dota.
What fixed the Problem?

Via Console I typed this: net_maxroutable xxx (instead of the x´s I needed to insert a number. 800 is what worked for me. According to my investigations 576 is the lowest number to put in. 1200 seemed to be the standard.

I´d like to mention that I weren´t able to watch games of other ppl or even join games. had some lag spikes before aswell, but suddenly I weren´t able to play anymore.
After changing this I´ve been able to play again and my lag spikes are gone aswell.
So no matter if it´s just about lag spikes or if the packet loss even stops you from playing dota in general. give it a shot, maybe it helps you aswell.

good luck guys :)

I sometimes get from 0 to 80% pocket loss that will make most of the thing freeze, and i'm pretty sure it's not my internet or something else because every other apps and games in this PC works perfectly except Dota. Help me with this Loss Issue please...
