Dota 2
Item drop system
In most of my games, the player who feeds intentionally or did the worst get item drops at the end of the game. I tried feeding once and got myself an item drop(sorry). Does anyone know how the item drop works? I can't seem to have the luck to get free items

Its absolutely random

After every matchmaking game, each player has a small chance to receive an item or set.
All drops in Dota 2 are solely based on time played in Dota 2 via matchmaking.
Winning, losing, or individual performance has no effect on item drop chance.

It certainly isn't entirely random. But I don't see why they would award feeding.
I do know that if you don't play the game for about a week you are guarenteed an item at the end of your first match after returning.

Ive copy pasted that paragraph from doto wiki, not the first sentance, even though wiki clearly implies its random.
So ya should know its reliable source
Well, in one of my games, a pudge feed intentionally because he didn't get to pick PA. he died almost 20 times and got himself a 3 spirits bundle set. And a LC giving duel damage to the enemy got a battletrap set. I can't say I'm not envious, that's why I'm curious about the system

random... but i can say its weekly

btw why sometimes i get 2 items in the same time or same match? (mostly a set + a random item part)... happened to me twice already

Everytime you get out of LP you get a free item and if dont play for a long time . Atleast for me works like this

No problem. Drops are supposed to be random. Track games where you see a drop, note all hero deaths and which hero got the drop. Post here and then maybe we can have a discussion. A pattern should be demonstrable. If not, it is not worth discussion.

It's random- what you're seeing can probably be attributed to a bias in your own memory.

First, that's a good reason to not make smurf accounts.
Second, if it's not tradeable or marketable, it isn't worth anywhere near $100. You should be able to gift it though I think.

I don't think it would effect much, but I think it would be kind of funny if a creep gets the last hit on a player it levels up. Like, lane-creeps become mega creeps and jungle creeps get a buff to all their stats and abilities or something.
