I can't understand what to do to pass this day.
The game seems to force you to tackle the arbiter, as meltdowns are just too frequent to be properly managed without some sort of time control. Once knowing that, and having made your peace with employee deaths just manage the day as normal until the 4th meltdown; then Binah spawns and you can devote all your efforts to tackle her down.
At least that worked for me, went even so far as pressing Don't Touch Me and let everything awry go awry. Nothing quite as entertaining as every single Aleph in the game join into the moshpit that was the Central Command team.
Not gonna sugar coat it tho; fighting Binah with minimal meltdown management is something not even remotely fun, I finished the day with only 33% survival rate and I had all departments with 4 or 5 employees. I wonder what kind of morbidly overpowered scenario day 50 is going to throw; at least Kether does Angela's greeting.
TL;DR. Day 49 is beatable but only if you are willing to let your facility burn to the ground by fighting Binah. So, who knows how beneficial that might be for day 50.
I'd ask if the fights are a one-time deal, like regular core supression, but you don't even get a CHOICE to opt out of these fights, and having all employees die/panic seemed to give me a bad ending (fortunately i could restart back to day 49), so good chance that i'd need to do it again if i restarted or went back to the last checkpoint...
Checked a video or two, seems like even the most determined (or insane, if you ask me) players prefer to take the hit by pausing, and hope for the best with stopping the meltdowns, essentially treating it as a regular Binah fight with no pausing unless she causes meltdowns, and probably a LOT more combat-related casualties, too... (Damn that insta-kill slash attack. Or 95% of the time instant kill anyway. Hardly a difference...)
Meh, maybe it's meant to wear you down and dwindle employee rates, but still, this is kinda rediculous... Exessive, even. Just hope i can keep a copy of my day 49 save, and put that back in if day 50 is too much with the previous day's casualties (i ussually only overwrite saves when i play on the PC or Laptop and transfer it over to the other continue playing, due to lack of Cloud Saving).

Edit: Wow. This ♥♥♥♥ is way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck-based. Second proper try, everything's set up quite well, noon on 3rd or so meltdown, she appears on the 4th, no-one died yet...
Then, utterly FORCED to use the pause and have people hurt/die, easily around 5 casualties, TONS of wounded. Turns out, well over 10 containment units where affected, easily 15 of them or more. Actually, probably 20+ of them, or so it feels. Truly impossible to get them all without pausing even for the world's fastest Starcraft player.
But somehow, her defences dropped and she was taken out of her first phase, and i was barely able to get everyone on the meltdowns, tons of casualties however, in some cases even had to call in people from other departments. And boy oh boy did she love throwing meltdowns on Nothing There. Every single time. Good thing i had multiple experts there, as one of them died.
But then things went sour. Very much so... Freakin' Yin and Yang escaped (forgot all about having used em), various strong but ignorable abnormalities broke out, and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Blue Star decided to go for a walk as well. To make matters worse she was just standing there doing nothing, not taking any damage either. Maybe it was intended as a mercy period of time for cleanup, but i couldn't waste a second trying to kill her. After what felt like ages (moreso something like a minute though) she finally decided to call another meltdown, but most employees died by then...
Worst part, though? THIS WAS THE LUCKIEST RUN I'LL PROBABLY HAVE. Perfect setup for killing her, enough people on nearly every department to handle meltdowns. Even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SURVIVED AN ATTACK! (Mostly...)
♥♥♥♥ this boss, it was ♥♥♥♥ back then, its even worse now. They REALLY need to nerf it, or give us an alternative to just get through 10 meltdowns without her ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff up. I'd rather deal with Fixers and fight The Claw again without pause then this ♥♥♥♥. But we have no choice!
The game is supposed to be difficult and frustrate you till you realize that what you held dear you need to sacrifice to clear it.
I can't say myself how bad it is since I haven't even gotten that far yet, but I understand the general idea. It's kinda harsh advise, but all you can do is get good in the game.
That or use third party alternatives which you're probably already considering, which I still hope you're not going to.
I just have one question. It might be a little bit difficult to understand why I would ask such a thing and might not feel very friendly. You might take it the wrong way, which I hope you do not and you might be going to hate me if you don't do this already, but, considering what what I read you post at multiple locations on the discussion boards I still feel like I do have to ask and I apologize for the rudeness in this question before hand, but could please stop whining?
I know I am not a moderator. I don't even have the right to ask this of you nor tell you what to do and not do here so you can completely ignore it if you wish to do so, but most people already realized and know this by pure obviousness. The discussion boards isn't a private bathroom where you can vent your anger, cry around and hope people would listen. Obviously it does attract attention and luckily people tend to ignore it, but it's still kinda frustrating to read posts like the ones you made here for some, especially when you include harsh language. I am sure you read the rules and guidelines before posting anything. It's pretty obvious to most, but, it's not welcomed with open heart when you vent your anger and frustrations here like that.
It's not that I don't get it. Spending days retrying things can lead outbursts. Hours wasted, the uncontrolable result. Games are supposed to challenge you, but some of it can be way too much. Really, I understand. People understand. They don't need post anything since they know everyone who bought it goes through the same ordeals. I'm not trying to be selfish as you claimed elsewhere. This is something I ask of you for your own sake as well as others. People have a limited acceptance and patience.
And this is coming from a person who did play challenging stuff back in the day, like Super Meat Boy, various roguelikes, etc... But all that stuff kinda drained my will and energy and i'd rather take it a little easier whenever possible nowadays, while keeping challenges at an tolerable level. Everyone gets old, either on the inside or outside (or both), you know?
But i didn't just post this just to rant, i also was looking for a proper strategy to beat this thing, it just so happened to be an great oppertunity to vent as well. Who wouldn't be utterly frustrated by a hopeless insurmountable challenge they see no way around, no way to defeat it? Even worse in that you have to mindlessly grind 4 meltdowns before the action starts...
And maybe hoping the devs will listen too, and atleast, i dunno, add an easier difficulty or something or atleast make it so not just the 0.01% players can beat it, but also give the persistent but less skilled players a fair try.
Edit: Reminds me. I can be a tad... rant-heavy, but think of it this way, it was out of love for the game that i did it. Sometimes people just get really loud/critical about something, moreso then usual, purely because they really want to see a game they enjoy improve. If i didn't care for the game i'd probably just silently drop it and play something else.
1. 10th meltdown.
Not sure, if it's possible without cheats.
We have only 36 abnormalities, so it's not enough for fast day end (it needs 20 works per meltdown).
Maybe, MAYBE, if you fast enough, it's possible, but I can't :(
So the only option for me was a fight with the Arbiter.
2. Can the Arbiter be beaten without a pause?
Maybe can, but I'm not fast enough. If you don't stop the Arbiter, she will raise more and more meltdowns, your waws and alephs will escape and kill all workers.
So I've pressed a pause three times and lost 9 workers.
If you have all 55 workers, and if you lucky, these 9 workers will be without top equipment.
3. So what we have:
- we should beat the Arbiter;
- we should use a pause to send employees to the works;
- we should hope, that killed/panicked workers will be not top;
- we should use a slowing bullet to decrease a count of meltdowns;
- we should use the Rabbit team at last stage, because, probably, your fighter will be last live employees in the complex, and you need them for last meltdowns.
I've lost almost all my employees.
But, seems, you need only 11 workers for the last day. So it's acceptable.
It was very hard =\
And I will tell you a secret - you can lose almost all your agents and you will be perfectly fine for the last day. Even if you lose everyone but 1 person, you will be rewarded with something near 12 LOB points, so you can buy 1-point agents and still complete last day.
The Arbiter is spreading Qlipoth Meltdowns, and they are NOT counting as work towards end of the cycle. So from 36 Abnormalities you will only have 24 who actually can move you forward (if Arbiter will not cast it's Pillar attack and Overheat even more). And you need 20 to proceed to the next cycle.
Yes you can, and it is much easier than 10 meltdowns. But still really hard. You need alot of Agents for this, though. And work at max zoom. I had 35 Agents with 130+ stats and 20 Agents with 80+ stats. And you don't need to enter all the meltdowns, just the Armor ones and few on speed. And just rush it (for last phase just hide and put Rabbits to do all the work, then finish few last % of the Arbiter's health.
Kinda the first time the game throws this level of BS at you (without it being some optional super-hard requirement like fighting WK and his apostles to get a powerful but optional weapon), was honestly expecting you had to beat it with reasonable amounts of agents left!
Well, guess i'll continue with what i tried last time, have 3+ agents on abnormality duty each apartment and send the ALEPH-gear kill squad after her when she's vulnerable. Maybe leave behind extra employees for some ALEPH's though, i swear, she picks ALEPH tier creatures on purpose...
