setting cht_bEnableCheats = 1 works but I can't get the others to function such as cht_bGod = 1. Anyone know what should be used instead?

K - Kill all enemies!
U - Auto aim!
Y - Ghost mode!

That doesn't disable cheats, it only enables cheats instead of "Developer Cheats"

you have to start a new map or load a save that didn't have cheats enabled for it to take effect. the game doesn't forget if you activated cheats in a session, and it will always display "cheats enabled" in that session. cheating status is stored in saves

But why even do this far down? Grab a friend and play? Use game heavy on Serious. This stuff kinds sucks (joking!!!!!). Enjoy the game more pure and fun. The game is amazing is you just play and enjoy it!

Play hard and have fun. Don't be a wimp. Serious Sam is not that way to wimps.

The cheat thing is a crap pile of cheat. Wimps.

Croteam gave the ability to cheat. So maybe just let people play their game however Croteam allows them to play it, without insulting them.

I mean not everyone has the skills or ability to handle the stress of being the best of the best to get all the achievements. I play games for the experience, not for ultra difficulty settings.
