We are working on a bigger update atm. After that, I have time to check the shaders to build a working Linux and Mac version.
I await your port!
Just kidding (not really! release it already!)
Hey guys, apologies for no news as of late!
Accidentally overlooked the thread since I didn't get a notification for it. :')
From what I can gather, BRG have a working linux version of the game (tested on Ubuntu), yet it still has some graphical bugs that need to be fixed. Since they couldn't get the game working with Vulkan, they have to use OpenGL instead - which apparently has odd bugs such as morphed terrain, bugged missing textures and other stuff.
Although devs have started to run through these issues, these require a lot of time and maintainance (especially after the Linux release), which would increase the development time for new features and content. However, I've been told they want to deliver a Linux and Mac version as soon as possible in 2018.
No dates as of yet, this is all I've heard so far!
I'll keep you guys updated.
i was not able to get the game working with vulkan for some reason, primary because the driver was not found even after installing it properly. I had to copy certain files from the driver into the witch it folder which just felt not right to me. Since the vulkan version is not even working on windows right now, we have to fix this first.
In the end, using OpenGL at least was running the game. In general the game was running well, with a slightly performance though. There are just some graphical glitches due to missing open gl features which we are using in our terrain system, causing the terrain morph in a weird way. But this occurs on windows running OpenGL as well, so our attempt is to fix the shaders to make it running in OpenGL.
