We need to talk about the ammo system
As much as I think limited ammo helps with spam and all that, it’s completely messed up my experience. The whole point of Pavlov is that it’s not onward. If I want realism, I’ll go play onward. The whole point was just to have a fun VR shooter. I absolutely hate when I’m spawned in Stalingrad with nothing but a Panzershrek, 4 rockets and a Luger, then told to go and try and kill anyone after I’ve expended my 4 rockets. God forbid I want want to pick up another weapon, if you can even do that before it warps itself out of exsistance. It’s gotten to the point where people just kill themselves when they get crap weapons. It would be neat if the servers had a realism option, and we could just filter out servers that have limited ammo. Honestly, it’s really annoying playing TDM, spawning and having only one mag. How am I supposed to kill my enemies if I have no bullets?

I think the settings right now are three magazines. In the next update you will get more. There are also ammo crates in the map. I usually run out of ammo after a couple of kills which is OK.

I'd love to have a permanent ammo crate at the spawn though.

Missing the point entirely. It’s cool to a point. I’d much rather play unlimited. It used to be all about running and gunning and having fun. Now it just feels like a poorly implemented afterthought. Even the boxes of ammo don’t explain what they do or what they’re for. Real lazy and annoying.

I enjoy limited ammo. But there will numerous variants around soon. A simple selection for servers would be best, I agree.

A Rush mode where only the anti tank rockets are limited is already released and will soon be on 20 player servers.

I don't think every game (especially early access) has to take me by the hand and explain all mechanics to me in detail - but I am old, I guess.

You don't need to hold my hand, You just need to put something just to indicate what it's for. It's not hard, just change the garbage textures with something descriptive

No, like telling me what it's for.

It's not just that I don't like it. They pushed a random change that ruined the game without thinking for a second "Huh maybe we should give them a choice"
This shouldn't have to be something I have to post about. They should have given us the option to begin with, not just roll it out, and break one of the main mechanics of the game.

There was a openly (multiple times) announced open beta phase - in which we found out that unlimited ammo (especially for anti tank weapons) will make it terribly balanced. Tanks become more or less useless with unmlited rockets for soldiers.

But I keep repeating myself - options are on the way.

Right? This game used to be fun. The whole point was that it's not onward and didn't try to be. I don't like the direction this pushes the game in. As much as I welcome new content like WWII, I despise the changes they made to the entire game along with it.

Then why not just make only AT have limits? Why make everyone suffer with every singe weapon just because one thing needs to be balanced?! Really overkill :steamfacepalm:

If the concern is rocket spam, perhaps a good compromise would be to limit the amount of rockets entirely or put their reload on a timer? IE: You only receive one rocket every 60 seconds or so.

This ammo system and inability to choose your own weaponry in WW2 are most definitely unwelcome changes from what a lot of us are used to but only because they are forced. I think people would be far more receptive if they were simply options the server or host could set manually.

Not just more ammo, get rid of the whole thing or make it completely optional. It’s literally the most upsetting, annoying and unwelcome addition to the game.

If you needed to balance rockets, you could have just made the ammo system cater to them only. Or for instance to carry limited rockets and as trade off you have to give up grenades.

I hope you guys still realize that people just chill at base and spam rockets anyways, because you can arc them a good distance. That makes it not fun when people don’t wanna push.

I’m tired of the bolt action guns being sensitive to not being 100% fully open and needing to waste a mag because I don’t have a third hand to hold my ammo while I open the bolt again.

Yeah an option for unlimited ammo (at least in non-tank games) couldn't hurt. If it sucks, people just won't use the option, so what's the harm

+1, limited ammo is not fun. Hated it in TTT, and I hate it in WW2. Maybe if acquiring ammo was easier/obvious it wouldn't be terrible, but I don't even know where to restock my ammo.
