Pavlov VR isn't dead at all, it matured and is better than ever. Yes, the player base shrinked but still exist. Thanks god all the little screaming kids went to constructor showdown and Pavlov VR on PCVR is played by adults in first case. You just have to look for matches at adult gaming times and I usally don`t find crowded servers before 21.00.

you are not a gamer. you are a Casual gamer , go play on your smartphone.
labelling yourself or anyone as a 'gamer' is arleady pretty sad but leveling being a gamer is pathetic

Pavlov Shack is doing very well.

Hell, they just have to port Stalingrad and PavZ Desert (properly) to standalone and they can prolly just go ahead and delist the the original game on Steam.

i feel a bittersweet nostalgia every time I see this game in my library. i used to host a 24-slot server on that one SCP-themed TTT map during early 2021 lockdown nights.

i’m not sure i will ever experience that same feeling i felt during those simple shitty times. i was feverish and cold when playing but it all felt so warm.

Coming from the perspective of a modder and player since 2018, It is disheartening and frustrating to watch a game that has brought me pleasure and a medium for creativity decay so avoidably. The central cause for the death of PC Pavlov is rooted entirely in the crossplay update, which introduced both mod.io, (making literally every single previously created Pavlov map unplayable), and crossplay with playstation. This update has been the single worst thing to happen to the once dedicated Pavlov playerbase ever. The issue at hand with crossplay is that it creates a feedback loop that drains PC lobbies and keeps them drained. Players will see that PC lobbies are dead, and so they flock to the crossplay lobbies, but the reason that the PC lobbies are dead is because PC players flock to crossplay lobbies. At this point crossplay is a net inconvenience to the Pavlov community, and I genuinely believe that the game could recover if crossplay as a feature was removed entirely.

Wrong. PCVR as a whole is completely dead. Just look at any PCVR game. The player numbers are down everywhere.

The last update has had massive performance gains for large player servers and the modkit is far superior to what we could have ever made with the old one.
Sacrificing the workshop mods for it is a fair trade-off as most of the maps have been abandoned anyway so any future pc update would have just rendered them unplayable either way.

You are aware you can turn crossplay off in the filters yes? And turning off the filters won't do jack. Removing crossplay means even less lobbies. It won't magically bring back more pc players. So now you have 2 lobbies instead of 5, real regular genius.
You need to get over your nostalgia for times that won't come back. For someone who says they've been a modder and player since 2018, you seem to know shockingly little about what the updates actually bring. While all the modders like you that can't get over their own ego or don't want to port their stuff out of laziness, those of us that actually care about modding will just continue.

Are we talking about the same game? The crossplay update absolutely killed Pavlov lmao

The only reason people play crossplay lobbies is because the PC lobbies are dead, removing crossplay would concentrate the PC playerbase back into PC lobbies, making there be a higher amount of PC lobbies, while still allowing players to play default maps should they choose to. If you look in any crossplay lobby you'll see that often more than half of the players are on PC, crossplay lobbies are crippling the PC pavlov community.

Game is not dead, yet.
But VR in itself is being hold back by the companies who develop VR devices that simply suck. Just look at HTC. Can't get ♥♥♥♥ right since the Vive Pro and their newest device is just a joke. So...like most people, still waiting for the perfect VR device for enthusiasts.

The PCVR side of the game IS DEAD.

As for the VR being held back? Has nothing to do with that.

HTC and Vive are doing just fine, and as is pico, and pimax, and so on.

They did nothing to the PCVR market to mess it up.

The companies making these games cross play and for standalone is what messed it up..

Thats what messed up pavlov more than anything.. being standalone focused more.

Nobody wants to work on the true PCVR titles any more they all want standalone being its lighter to work on and more sold, mostly younger people are the ones being into this crap, and it fades off fast. Go figure. Dedicated PCVR players are very thin and always have been.
