"Pavlov Shack" is just a downgraded and feature limited "light" version of Pavlov VR running on Quest headsets standalone.
"Pavlov VR" is the full title for Steam VR and the real deal for PCVR headsets. "Pavlov Shack" and "Pavlov VR" are not compatible and complete different titles.
So yes, if you want to play "Pavlov VR" you have to buy it first.
Please don't spread such nonsense.
Do you own Pavlov Shack?
I started playing Pavlov VR in 2017 and now have almost 2000 hours. I experienced the prime era and still play Pavlov VR in the e-sports league today.
I also own Pavlov Shack.
Both games are not compatible, that's true. Nevertheless, the two games hardly differ at all.
Most maps have small differences, like a car there or a box there that is placed differently. But basically they are the same maps and in 99% of cases they are the same size. Mod support in Shack is now just as extensive as in Pavlov VR. community server for about 40 too.
There are a few more children in Shack. But that has also subsided since the game is no longer free for the quest.
The graphics of Pavlov Shack look better in places than Pavlov VR from 2017. At least if you use the QuestGameOptimizer.
Weapon handling etc. is identical in both versions.
The big difference lies in the number of active players. Pavlov Shack has about 30x as many active players. just like Pavlov VR in his prime time.
When I play Pavlov Shack these days, it's like I'm traveling back in time and experiencing Pavlov VR in its prime. That's why I play the Pavlov Shack version much more often.
Would love to see Shack on the PC so I can have access to a big population of Pavlov players again. I guess for now, I will sit here on the PC side, not playing Pavlov PC, waving my money around like a stunad.
