Why do people keep trying to hype Vail? That game is in early access and basically dead. To try to get other people playing without mentioning the playerbase is a bit dishonest.
To be fair, CSGO is focussing on competitive and has a big casual audience anyway, and Pavolv is based on CS. So competitive features and casual play dont exclude each other.
The problem with Vail is more... it doesnt matter how good an online game is when nobody plays it. Pavlovs PC playerbase is a bit too small for comfort, and Vail is a fraction of that.
Oh right, now I get what youre saying. That makes total sense, I wasnt aware Vail pulled that much towards competitive.
If you put it like thats, its actually mental how poor of a decision this focus is. Especially with VR-shooters, with its tiny audiences and somewhat difficult to learn game systems.
Kind of a shame, because the idea of making a VR shooter, with strong enough mechanics to support a competitive scene would be pretty neat. I like Pavolv, but it misses the marks in a few ways, its a bit janky.
But I cant see how Vail has any future, with early access, tiny playersbase and no road to larger scale success.
I'm not hyping anything, I'm telling people what I play. I have had harder times finding games in Pavlov than in Vail. I have yet have issues finding servers to play on.
Pavlov may have more players (though actual counts suggest reported numbers are inaccurate) but it would seem they're spread pretty thin across all the various maps and modes. Vail has it's normal 5v5 and one CTF map so if what you want is proper 5v5 then you're still going to find more of those game going at any given time.
I know there are a lot of people that are super mad for reasons but it's a good game with plenty of players to have a good time.
Youre being dishonest when youre pretending people are just mad at VAIL. Especially when I said that its a shame that it doesnt seem to go anywhere.
Or thats anyone can just get reliably games. Play it in the wrong place, wrong timezone, and you get no games at all, from what I can say. The playerbase is down to 40 average, on a declining tendency.
In some regions this game is already dead, and its only gonna get worse on the current trajectory.
Pavlov might be off, no clue, but its 1000. And with PSVR crossplay, its gonna be the most popular VR online shooter by a margin.
