workshop stop working when?
The question above is the same here, do we know when support for steam workshop ends and they update the game to have mod.io in the game and start downloading mods, weapons, mods, maps from in game?

The workshop will be pointless when the full update releases, because all the maps are on unreal 4.21 while the game will be on 5.1. So when the update releases.

As a unreal engine user, any project is easily upgradable to 5

Also you won't "have" to download everything in game, you can subscribe to them on mod.io too like you do with the current Steam workshop.

Once the new modkit/modio is out that is, in a few weeks/months from now hopefully.

Its easy enough depending on the project, but mods will be incompatible as they were built on 4.21, so mod makers will still have to upgrade to match their mod with the engine version. Due to this, they are moving to mod.io for an in-game mod browser (probably for PSVR too) and mod makers will need to update their mods anyways, but this time they will be published on mod.io
