That said you've described an interesting feature. I feel like it would be solving a problem with how you're wearing your headset rather than an actual issue with the game. I feel if you're having trouble closing your eyes you need to adjust your headset.
That's what another user recommended to me, keep both eyes open. It's not blinking as much as keeping one eye completely closed kind of stretches the skin around that part of the headset. Maybe I have it too tight, seems like any loser and it could fall off or something

Yea any real combat training will tell you to keep both eyes open as you lose a fair amount of peripheral vision with one close, you also have to then transition between binocular and monocular vision. If you're target shooting it doesn't matter much but if you've got multiple targets that are shooting back you want to be able to see as much as possible.
One of the nice things about VR is that aiming in VR works just like aiming in real life. I'm sure you can find a couple youtube videos on proper aiming techniques. Learning to shoot with both eyes open does kinda feel weird at first but you'll get the hang pretty quick and you'll be faster on target because of it.
Out of curiosity, what headset are you on? I don't know much about oculus adjustments but I find a lot of users don't do a great job of adjusting the top strap on the vive. You might find that a playing around a bit can help a lot with how it's sitting on your head.

I'm using a Rift; it's pretty easy to adjust. It sounds like I just need more practice, thanks for the tips!
