Not exactly a rumor, dave has done all but say those words exactly, probably because of contracts and whatnot.

Kinda sucks that we probably can't get a beta though.

And it probably will be pavlov's biggest update ever. Two new guns (that we know of, we already know one is the VZ61 thanks to shack) reworks to at least three gamemodes (Push getting modern items, prop hunt and infection being released officially), maybe four if they can fix up hidden. A complete rebalance of search and destroy, which will in turn effect the entire rest of the game. At least one map, a remake of the map Sand, which is being called Sand 2 right now. Although there are talks of another map possibly being added to the update. All the new IK/animations, everything else in the shack RC (prone, namely) and of course, all on a brand new engine.

And maybe, eventually, although definitely not on launch day of PSVR pav, crossplay with pc, once they work out a system for their own independent workshop, seperate from steam. Because if we are being real, pavlov is *nothing* without its workshop.

Not to say all of this is 1000% coming, because the devs can change their minds, or just simply not be able to do it right now, but most of it should come out with PSVR 2's launch.

Also, gun skins, at some point, eventually, in 1000 years, when shack gets a full release probably.
At this point that dosnt feel like enough of an update unless the graphics are now 100% real
1 year with 0 updates and all they have is 2 new guns ( h3vr has added idk how many guns) and community gamemodes which are already 70% coded for them already and the ue4 engine update which is the only real peace of work they've done all year

Something about this isn't adding up to me. You have a community hanging on by a string, and you sign a "contract" that prevents you from releasing ANY updates to your own game dependent on the release of a peripheral on a separate platform?

Fire your lawyers. Seriously.

Idunno, its cause crossplay stuff I think, they want to treat it as the same game, and I'm sure sony wants the big unreal 5 shooter.

"Biggest update ever" adds 2 new guns and official 'support' for community gamemodes? What?

Going on 1 year without any kind of update is kind of ridiculous

I love how prone is deliberately not going to be added to SND. Can't have any meaningful new additions to that mode or shakeups to the same, boring old meta, otherwise it'll make the competitive nerds upset and throw a fit.

See, I agree with that with weapons, but prone would straight up not be fun in snd, hiding is already sorta busted with just crouching.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think that new mechanics that could open up new playstyles in such a meta-strict gamemode should be withheld to appease the relatively insignificant competitive playerbase. At the very least it should be a server option that can be enabled a là "fun mode" or "no fun allowed competitive mode"
Brainslug Dec 7, 2022 @ 11:54pm
I never have fun in "fun modes".
