In Virtual Desktop you have to enable the microphone in the settings first. You'll find settings by holding the left menu button. When you click Enable Microphone the Quest is going to ask you if you want to let Virtual Desktop use the microphone, you have to say Yes.
And this is for Link Cable not virtual desktop.
if windows 10, type 'Manage input devices' (on the bottom left windows search thingy) and then from there you can disable non VR stuff and enable your VR mic/headphones. Hopefully that helps
Then, in the game you are playing go to the audio settings and put "Default settings" or "default windows settings" are the output (or mic) settings.
But you HAVE TO go into the oculus app and go to device and make sure under AUDIO both settings are under WINDOWS DEFAULT.
