When you say different do you have any specific headset in mind? I mean if your computer can run a headset with better specs obviously it would be a better experience?
I find the CV1 is good. I'd welcome better FOV and resolution though. I'm running 4 sensors and that generally has no tracking issues. I'd be curious to play on lighthouses.
I bought the oculus earbuds and they were great. In ear is awesome quality if you don't mind not being able to hear your surroundings irl. My wires for audio must've worn out since it's a ribbon cable that moves when the headstrap is adjusted. Kinda a poor design imo. Currently have a 3.5mm extension to earbuds zip ties to the head straps.
There's still screen door effect, for sure. Even when you have your headset strap adjusted properly and the correct IPD is set on the slider. I've only had the chance to try the DK1, DK2, and the CV1. Each one a drastic improvement over the other. I'd love to try some higher res sets but for now I'm happy with my current setup.
I looked at getting the HP Reverb for flying and driving sims. It has a crazy 2160x2160 display. Depending on hardware stepping up in res can hurt performance which really degrades the experience. I'll take blurry butter smooth. Than a stunning vomit enducing slideshow. Those are obviously two extreme ends of the scale. Anyway kinda cool to see it visualized.

The only HMD i would upgrade to is an Index - but then I also have to upgrade my rig - and I don't have 3000 bucks right now. :)
I'll wait for the next generation of HMDs - i also might use my Quest with link once it works reliably.
The Index and the RiftS look better than the CV1, the friend that had a CV1 upgraded to a Rifts after using my Rifts.
The index is better but not 700 Euro better the image quality and tracking is pretty much the same as a Rift S you will notice the bigger FOV on the index for sure and the 120FPS fresh rate is nice
VR is great I love it but it still has along way to go in regards to resolution and FOV. My advice is to test out some more head sets and see, but if your happy with what you have wait a few years this stuff is only going to get better and cheaper with time.
Probably gonna stick with it for a while. Really don't see a reason to spend 1000 bucks on an index when this one is doing just fine.
The price I paid for the three sensor setup and additional ear-bud earphones, you can buy the Valve Index kit for now.
I know that the newer headsets have a significant upgrade to the resolution and in the case of the Index higher refresh rate and FOV- but non of these things will make me swap out my CV1, yet.
I do know that if I were to use an Index or even the newer Rift S, the CV1 would instantly show its shortcomings with the visuals, so I am in no hurry to try newer headsets and the current experience is still good enough.
When FOV is higher, variable focus exists and eye tracking with full foveated rendering is working
and available in a consumer headset for around the same price, this is more than likely when I will retire the Rift CV1.
Why can't we have nice things, Zuck? ;)
