Keep in mind, you won't be able to reach down to the floor AT ALL. Don't drop anything; make sure to ALWAYS holster your weapons properly, and understand that enemy items will be inaccessible to you.
To crouch, you will need to simply duck your head down.
If you're looking for a quality VR FPS at the time, Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades has a special accessibility feature where you can point a laser at an object and pull grip to pick up objects from a short distance; this feature would come in handy given your current situation.
Unfortunately Pavlov lacks this feature to my knowledge. I would recommend requesting a feature for picking up nearby objects on the official Pavlov Discord, where Davevillz is frequently in touch.
