MP5 Handguard change?
So i know it's a been a while since they changed the MP5 handguard to that of the SD version, but does anyone else want the original handguard back like me? Or a picatinny version? Or maybe even the option to swap them around?

I really like the MP5, it's a classic, but it looks weird using it unsilenced with the SD handguard...

What do people think?

I agree, I think it's super weird to have the SD handguard without a supressor. In general I would prefer the standard MP5 handguard (or even the really early checkered handguard) And to have the tri lug tip that's also threaded for some reason. Unfortunately I don't expect there to be any effort in terms of weapon realism as any of the times I've brought up the numerous (and I would say egregious) inaccuracies it seems most people don't notice or care :\

I'm glad it's not just me, i really don't understand the change! For a game where the main focus is the firearm you're holding it seems so odd to have it the way it is, especially when the initial iteration looked much better, why would they change it? What's the point?
I know i'm ranting, i just don't understand the developers decision :(

Well as I understand it the original one used wasn't an asset wholly own by the developer. All the weapons have since been remodeled so they're unique to Pavlov. I think that's great and it shows the dev cares about having good content. My concern is that whoever did the models and animation is clearly unfamiliar with these weapons and how they work. This is actually a pretty common problem but only really noticeable to those who are at least somewhat versed in how these weapons operate.

I can even understand the reasons why an animator would want something like a charging handle to reciprocate with each shot, in theory it helps provide additional feedback to the player about what's going on. At least that's some of the reasoning I've heard before.

What I have a harder time understanding is when those changes would actually improve the feel of the weapons. Like the 2 stage trigger on the AUG and P90. If you have Contractors give the AUG a try, you'll not it has no fire select (just like real life) you just pull trigger part way for a single shot and if you pull it all the way it's full auto. It feels super good and adds an interesting mechanical layer to the weapon that takes full advantage of the fact we have analog triggers.

I think what's more likely though is that many times people making the content will use other content as reference and unfortunately we end up with a bit of a blind leading the blind scenario. I'm sure we all recall the old counter-strike m4 where it was being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by pulling back the forward assist.

I can understand AUG having a fire selector, to be honest the introduction of two stage triggers would probably mess my custom controls (normally you shoot by squeezing the trigger on Index, click does nothing, I changed it that squeeze does nothing related to the guns, while only the click makes the guns shoot - many times my full auto magdump would stop for no reason at all, despite me having the trigger pressed, plus it makes semi-auto shooting easier), but there's one problem with this particular gun having a feature like that. You can't tell if it's set to burst or full-auto.

There's nothing on the gun to indicate this. I know it's not happening, because the model was already changed for accessories update, but it needs SOMETHING, slap a fire selector from the M4 on the back of it like Airsoft Guns have, I don't care anymore, just give it something.

And why give it a burst instead of semi-auto? Why give FAMAS full-auto and semi? Seems kinda backwards, but guns follow their own logic in this game. I just wish they'd go full "screw it" mode and mirror the guns if you're left handed - so the revolver opens to the right, and bolt's on the left side of the sniper rifles.
