Before some updates ago, there were no holo-sights in the game. And AWP was balanced by high magnificent sight-only. You had to aim your shots precisely. And now, with the holo-sight, you can just run around using it as CQB weapon, never missing your shots. THAT is why the new gun is OP. Its "taking forever reloading" doesnt make sense because you have to be a total dеgеnеratе to miss your shot using a holo-sight from 5 meters
Make it high magnification sight-only, and then maybe it will be a bit balanced
I'd imagine that would suck, I should really try all the new stuff and see what you mean since I haven't played in a while, last I played was about a week before the attachments update but couldn't you just practice free aiming the gun to get consistent results with a AWP or the new 50. Cal and have the same result essentially?
It's not like this is a regular FPS where accuracy is everywhere even on first shot while moving, you could literally just practice how to free aim it for hours on end and get a similar result if you got good enough at it.
As far as I'm aware there doesn't seem to be anything stopping that.
In fact you will see very little sights being used in the league - they just cost money that you better use for nades.
what I would like to see is the option to select what weapons you allow on a server you host. This goes beyond blocking just blocking 50.'s and AWP's but could also be a tool to set up games that are handguns/shotguns or SMG only or something of that order.
To be honest, the reload speed really depends on the player, right? I can load the .50cal and fire it in under 2 seconds. It takes the AWP like 1 second if you off-hand it. Alas, there is a cap to the actual human possibility of loading it, but it is a really quickly reload if you are talking "reload to fire"
reload to fire to steady aiming on the other hand...
Not that I'm complaining though, it is a fun weapon, but it is kinda unbalanced at longer ranges... And well, the AWP in CS:GO still one-shots (body up) and it isn't hard at all to use and no one really complains about that any more.
