Change Forward Direction
I've done the calibration where it asks me to face forward, then it asks me to look up and down. I'd like to face forward towards my monitor, because that's where my webcam is. However even after doing calibration several times, the game still has me facing away from the monitor. Is there a way to change that orientation?

Hmm that's odd it should re-orient you facing forward regardless of the calibration settings, does restarting the game helps? basically stand with your desired orientation at game start up

No, unfortunately restarting does not help. When I start the game facing my monitor, it has me looking at the back wall every time.

Run room setup from steam vr and when setting the room size go into advanced mode and make sure the arrow in the middle of the play area is pointing in the direction your pc is. I'm almost completely certain this is the solution. I know every time I launch the game it faces in the same direction because I set it to do so in the steam vr room set up! Let me know if it works, and if it does, you're welcome! :)

You can also use Advanced OpenVR settings the Play Space tab to rotate it

If that doesnt work and you still cannot get it to center right, you could always try downloading and using Turn Signal here on steam. It is a little program to help keep your cords untagled, but it has a "reset orientation" button, so you can look at where you want "forward" to be, and hit reset orientation, and then use the Turn Signal overlay to determine where front is, instead of the steam background.

Thanks all for the suggestions...Lawful Waffle wins! Seems weird but when I do room setup and tell SteamVR where my monitor is, it changes the orientation. I'll look at Turn Signal too. Thank you!
