randomly no damage?
multiple times I felt like I was doing no damage at all, so I recorded it and found a clear example:

EDIT:
as dev stated, shotgun is nerfed until they implement damage decay over distance

Lag is the culprit here, however lag compensation is planned, i think it's important that the bullet is accurate at some degree

Many developers do this client side that ends up one guy getting killed without even seeing anything

Sorry, multitasking here, saw the video the shotgun is temporarily nerfed and it'll get reworked form hte ground up in upcoming updates!

Between the lag compensation and how wildly inaccurate a lot of the guns are, I think it's something that needs addressing pretty quickly.

Due presumably to lag compensation (as well as the fact that I buy full armor every time I spawn), I've already been accused of hacking at least twice by people who claimed they fired entire mags into me and couldn't kill me.

Just the same, I've ran into players whom I've absolutely unloaded flurries of bullets into their backs at close range, yet they're able to turn around and kill me in just a few shots no problem. There definitely shouldn't be cases like OP's video, where a person just tanks a ton of shots standing still like that.

Really enjoying the game otherwise; it was a steal for $6! Just hope to see some of these bigger kinks worked out before too long.

This is why I refunded it. All kinds of weird issues like this, the very same ones I saw in the demo well before release. For example.. stabbing someone 20 times with no damage only to get shot in the face by them. Yep, done, refunded. Issues like this are 100x worse in VR where you're physically investing yourself in your actions.

If this is lag then it needs to be compensated for. If I live in NA and am playing in the NA servers and stab someone, they need to go down or I'm just not going to play the game. I couldn't even throw knives in the NA server because they'd just teleport and hit something random. Lag or something.

Either way.. I'll definitely come back when there's at least one more map and the lag/hit registration/balancing is resolved.

Great ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game though. It's awesome and I'd be playing it right now if it didn't have those aforementioned issues.

Keep up the fantastic work dev. Please, please prioritize the lag.

Is it supposed to take 1-2 magazines to kill someone or is that just because the hit detection is all server side? My aim is fine as I play a lot of Onward and H3VR, however even when I go up close to someone and start pumping rounds into them I only see blood once in every five hits or so which makes me think that my rounds aren't registering.

I live in Asia which might have a lot to do with it.

Will the future lag compensation make playing on NA servers more tolerable? I play on NA servers exclusively in Onward and it's generally not noticeable.

There's usually no communication on Asian servers because no one speaks the same language and then there's the issue of VR newbies sampling games like Pavlov from Chinese cyber cafes.

You can buy any weapon you dont have to keep the one you get randomly :steamhappy:

the game is still in development. Just don't buy the shotgun for now ;-) It's not a game breaking bug.

it's frustrating for a new player to find out after trying to use it multiple times
