Game is stuttering and slow since patch

I played last night before the patch, and it ran fine.

However, when I logged on this morning after the game updated, my game took a long time to open, and starting with the opening cinematic, it's very slow and stutters; however, the audio is normal. Getting out of the cinematic, the transition screens of the destroyer, my helldiver walking in, and then all gameplay is extremely sluggish and stuttery.

I've been playing on medium graphics, and switching to low does nothing. My graphics drivers are all up to date for my device, and when I verify game files, it says that 2 files could not be verified (but when I verify it again, it doesn't say it).

I've restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and cleared the Steam download cache, but it still runs poorly. Has anyone else experienced these issues since the patch? I've checked online and on Reddit, and no one else seems to have these issues.

Got a brand new PC yesterday and was running maxed out 1440p at 60fps consistently prior to the patch. After the patch I played for a few hours and noticed performance dipping to a choppy mid 30s fps towards the end of my session. I was playing on Suicide Mission difficulty in all my sessions, on the same planet - so quite consistent environmentally.

Same issue. Reinstalling didn't help. Verifying Steam files didn't help. Deleting shader cache didn't help. Deleting GameGuard files didn't help. Issue seen with both Nvidia 552.12 & 552.22 drivers.

I did try updating my NVIDIA GeForce RTX Graphics card and that seemed to fix a lot of the issues. Definitely recommend updating drivers to help with this problem!

Haven't done a drop yet, but I did add the Steam launch command to force it to use DX11, and that seems to fix it. At least it's not stuttering when walking on the ship.

I have had the same issue. Before patch worked great after patch, sluggish and very close to unplayable. Exact same issues as OP.

Moved game to different SSD. Double checked internet speeds and ping. To no avail, only change from not working to working was the patch.

Try the trick of forcing it to use DX11. Add this as a launch command through Steam: --use-d3d11

UPDATE: I found the problem - Webroot cloud based antivirus/malware was the cause. Shutting it down fixed the entirety of the problem. Never had this issue before today.

Same problem here. Stuck at 5FPS when previously game was buttery smooth without issue. Takes 3 minutes to launch. Then, when it finally does, the FPS are 5 maximum. FPS so bad that can't even access the in game menu. Audio seems perfectly fine. I've tried all of the fixes found online: increase cache size, changed Nvidia properties, ran STEAM file check. All drivers updated. Running Intel I7 and 3070Ti on MSI laptop with 16GB RAM. Turned off every background process I can think of. No improvement. The fault must lie with the last patch which basically bricked the game for me.

Yes I agree, after playing a few days with the newest patch, it felt all okej at starts. But yes2day I lost like 50% of my FPS & I to felt the sluggy slowmo & sometimes even stuttering s terrings a few sec sometimes?

Something as getting increased on the map during game play? I dunno what yet?

More enemies & or more items on the map?

I even to mention to the team, that this is not normal at all. There most be some kind of memory leak of some kind?

Would been good to address this things guys, in the Arrowheads official discord channel & or they are probably already aware of this as we all speak?

I am having this exact issue, while webroot is running the game is laggy, once I shut it down the game is perfectly fine. Not sure what changed the last patch that would cause this, even added HD2 to explicit allow list on webroot and no diff. Only shutting down the antivirus altogether does the trick. Tragic that this would occur off of an update.

I am having the same issue have also updated drivers but still cant get above 26 fps. Never had any issues until this recent patch. 4070S i9-13900k. All other games are running as they should be. EDIT I shut down my webroot antivirus and the game runs perfectly fine q.q I hope they fix this soon

I am mad that this was also what finally fixed the issue for me. Thanks for this. I never would have even bothered checking my antivirus.
