every update makes the game runs worse than before
this game pushes my cpu to a 90% usage, and i have a Ryzen 7 5800X
THIS. IS. NOT. NORMAL

the devs need to optimize this game, this is beyond a joke at this point.

i can't even get more FPS by running the game on low, whether i'm on ultra or low makes zero difference, it won't go above 70FPS during gameplay, on ship i can't get more than 100FPS.

i love this game but the fact that performance hasn't improved since release make me want to uninstall badly.

even on steam deck, the game is literally unplayable, since when 30FPS is an acceptable frame rate for a 2024 game ? it's not 2010 anymore, move on.

inb4 «muh 30FPS is enough» / «muh 70 FPS is great», not it's not, i have tons of games that both run on my pc and steam deck while being looking 10× better at higher frame rates.

agreed... but they dont care...the devs prefer content over performance (yes, the CEO litterally said that), quantity over quality... i hoped they knew better... but here we are a year later, and performance wise, nothing changed... also, still no dlss

I really dont wanna say it... but, payday 3, the game with the worst launch of 2024 runs better than this...

has payday 3 finaly been fixed?
Something's wrong with your setup. My CPU is comparable to yours and I only hit about 33% usage on max settings. That's with my CPU massively underclocked and undervolted. That's fairly comparable to other games with similar graphics.

Also, GPU has a WAY bigger impact on framerate than CPU, unless the CPU is bottlenecking your framerate (which it might be, if something is wrong with your CPU). With my setup, I have no trouble hitting 110-120 FPS on 1440p with the highest settings. If I accepted 1080p and lowered some settings, I could get a similar framerate on a more budget GPU, but if you want big frame rate, you need a powerful video card.

Also, if you're ever going to complain about performance issues in any game, post your full system specs. Telling us only your CPU does not help.

my setup if fine
my specs are on my profile
... runs fine on my 970 and runs amazing on my friends 4070 ...

This :steamthis: , good luck
This is an older post and at the time it was posted, I would completely agree. However, my experience over the last week or two, I have noticed the the game runs substantially better on my setup. Where it would usually be laggy/jittery on initial load of my character in the ship, it is now smooth sailing. Same thing with when I drop into a planet where it used to be supper laggy on first drop, now it's smooth. I used to get disconnected a lot when I played too, haven't had a disconnect in like 2 weeks at least (maybe 1 at most). Anyways, I've definitely seen improvement, but I'm sure they could improve it more. Knock on wood.

DLSS isn't a solution, DLSS doesn't optimize games, DLSS is only an excuse for the average dev to compensate their incompetence.
also DLSS is reserved to NVIDIA RTX cards only, it's a proprietary technology and it should not be a standard.

i've played a bit during the last 2 weeks and it wasn't a lot better, sure there was a very little improvement but it's not good enough.
the ship is still a stupidly GPU intensive scene for no reason
i can't get more than 90 FPS as best on diff 9

no, not this. my setup is perfectly fine.
HD2 is the only game that runs so badly on my machines, i've tested across multiple devices and the result is the same, performance is garbage in this game.

I doubt that very much since it runs so democratically good on my toaster 970

I suppose I could ask if its your internet ... but i feel if i do you'll just say you have FUTUREnet speeds or something.

Good luck :xenon::mead:
Same CPU,
There are some stage in some situation that can cause FPS to drop around 40 but for the most part it's running around 60-70% of my CPU, I thing you should considering find some application that might eat your CPU.

you entire argument : «it runs on my machine os if it runs badly for others it's their fault»
literally zero valid argument besides trying to gaslight me, search the forums, lots of AMD GPU & CPU owners have poor performance, that doesn't mean everyone has issues with it. your game works well ? good for you, now stop trying to argue. i know exactly what's the issue here and it's this game.

i've tested across multiple devices, running multiple OSes, the game runs like trash on all of them, including Steam Deck, even tho the game has a dedicated «Steam Deck» graphical setting, which runs like TRASH even if i lower the settings even more.

my internet is fine, CAT6 FTP RJ45 connected to a 1GB switch then CAT8 SFTP to a router, itself connected to a FTTH outlet.
But guess what ? that doesn't matter at all, even if i had a bad connection, it wouldn't have an impact on the framerate. One more proof that you don't even know what you're talking about.

if you have nothing constructive to say, don't bother replying twice in a row with a «trust me bro» type of argument.

i've ran all the required diagnostics:
PC is fine, hardware is fine, internet is fine, GPU is fine, OS is fine,
no abnormal resource usage without the game running

my CPU idles at 2-3% without the game running

I have a 5900x and 3080 ti. I get 60-80fps @ 4k which doesn't seem too bad to me. This game is more gpu hungry than cpu. What gpu do you have?
