I don't like bug breaches
TLDR: Give breaches holes that can be closed. Higher difficulties have more bug holes created.

Specifically higher level ones (Extreme+, highest I've done is Suicide). I'm not sure if they are bugged or what, but they last 5-10 minutes. You can see the breach smoke go away, and instantly come back without any bug calling, hence why I think they might be bugged?

If this is intended, it sucks imo. They last WAY too low, with no way to close them. Dropships all come in at once, and you fight them right there and then. Also you can kill an incoming dropship. In this way, Automatons are infinitely more enjoyable to fight than Bugs.

While breaches last forever,t han you end up fighting patrol after patrol while trying to contain the breach. Dealing with a large nest is better than dealing with a single breach. And sure, you COULD just ignore it, but if higher difficulty bugs is just....ignoring fighting, than that is a pretty lame difficulty. I want to kill bugs, not ignore them. Stealth is one thing, but just ignoring aggro'd enemies is a whole nother deal.

My recommendation. Give bug breaches holes that can be closed, so that we can at least make some sort of push and if things are shining in our favor we can close it early. Still requires the risk of having to push close enough to close them. Also make it so more holes show up depending on the difficulty.

I don't mind the bug breach once it happens. (you failed to prevent it so get penalized) But the telling sign that a bug is about to summon, is too short and not obvious enough. With the robots, the robot that is about to do it, stops, raise his arm, fires the flare. You get a good second to kill him before he fires it. With the bugs, I can see when a big one is about to do it, but even then, I'm already a bit late because their animations are not clear enough.

So what I'd suggest, is not for them to change the bug breach once it happened but to improve the summoning of it. If we can have an easier time preventing it, that'd solve the problem I think.

ya the time to spot and stop the breach is basically impossible unless you literally see the one about to start it as it happens.

I think the breach should trigger only after the bug finishes its pheromone animation and not as soon as it starts.

Yeah playing on Extreme or higher is insane. The bug breaches go away after spawning a bile titan, 2-3 chargers and 10 bile spewers, just to respawn instantly again, and summon the same amount. Like increase the number of small enemies at least and lower the elites. It's insane seeing 6 chargers, 12 bile spewers and 3 titans from 3 breaches in the span of 2 minutes.

i kinda agree with this, either make them a hole you can close or at least make it a bigger animation thats more noticeable. sometimes i'm looking around for a bit just to find the hole

They are easy to deal with. you need someone with AOE to clear it, or prioritise targets better. Every bug you see up till rank 4, can and will call for backup. The best option is to get close and kill small targets, then swap to a bigger target and run

Agreed, I've only been able to stop it if I happened to be already shooting at the bug that's alerting.

Good luck Aoeing a bile titan and some chargers. And your reference to diff 4, shows by that comment btw. You may get rid of the small fries by doing that but anything else will look at you and smile. Not to mention that yeah, I could spot the summoning bugs at lower difficulties but at higher diffs either they got buffed in how fast the summon, or something changed because it's almost impossible to stop them even once you spot them.(almost. Not entirely)

To be fair, I honestly don't care about the actual difficulty of the breaches. It's literally how long they last. If they just spit everything out within 30 seconds, I'm all game!

But the friggin things last for 5 minutes or so, and it's way too long to just sit there killing all the bugs that come out.

Literally the best strat is to just....run from it. Otherwise you get stuck in this infinite loop of dealing with breach, than patrols, and while dealing with patrols a new breach, and more patrols.

And I don't think we are killing the bugs too slow. I specialize in anti armor, and basically take them down fairly quickly. While everyone else mows down the weaker enemies. But even with the coordination, you can spend 15 some minutes just fending off wave after wave after wave of bugs, just because the breaches last so long.

Stop pulling and fighting them all.

High difficulty needs stealth, all out blasting works only up to 7.
