The Axe feels useless, does anyone got stats on it?

The axe is absolute garbage compared to stun baton and spear. They still stun but the ax doesnt and I think all melee weapons have the same damage anyway. Has anyone tried them?

the axe is for chopping up fodder, not for fighting alphas/big illuminates/hulks/chainsaws

from what i heard about the axe it deals double damage of the stun baton, which is the same amount of damage as the stun spear

Axe seems to dismember limbs in 1 melee hit. I've only ever used it against illuminate, just chop the legs and run.

If you're talking about the voteless it's because they only have 90 health on their legs

personally I felt the axe was much stronger, but it suffers from the same problem as the stun baton, the range.

Against bugs this is dangerous to use, because the range is short, the bugs are more numerous and mainly bigger than you, and they hit harder than you, 1 small mistake = half of your life disappears.

Against the bots, well... they have guns, until you get to them, you'll probably get shot, long-range weapons are more viable against them.

Against the Illuminates, it is relatively good against the Voteless, and dangerous but strong against the Overseers. (It is viable)

Yes. I've tried them.

The Axe is stronger because it doesn't have a stun effect so does more raw damage.

Melee combat is kind of an esoteric art that requires some practice in this game. This isn't Spacemarine or God of War where you can shrug off melee hits.

You need to actually have some patience and know when you're outclassed in a Melee fight.

It's taken me some practice and use of the slab shield but I've gotten to the point where I can take on normal devastators and Overseers in 1-1 melee fight with the axe. Chaff is no match for me.

Doesn't mean I'll tango with Beserkers or heavy enemies with it. It's not built for that.

Hell, I can actually make the shovel work.

Axe hits as hard as the Stun Lance, but has the wide swing of the Sun Baton so it can hit several enemies in front of you. The general impression I have is that you really want to pair it with a ballistic shield now that it can block melee, because you're going to take too much damage with it otherwise.

I also said that it was a rumor when asked about it. I never heard that it was debunked tho but if it is fully a rumor can you show that AH said otherwise? It'd be good to see officially

it wasn't that it was wrong, PP was bugged and not working at all initially, then they fixed it and it was still bugged so that it didn't work unless using melee attack (all fairness to AH when they applied this fix melee weapons weren't in the game yet), then they fixed it AGAIN and now it works like it's supposed too regardless. Some people are just still using outdated information.
