Is it weird that there was no form of beta?
Maybe I’m talking out of my ass here but this is the Devs first foray into this scale of a game, hasn’t it always just been Magicka and Helldivers?

So it’s a bit weird they haven’t done any form of beta or alpha test, if they launch and find the game is a buggy mess then that could be one huge nail in the coffin.

The creators of Darktide had years of experience with vermin tide and even they ended up having issues too and while they have made a bit of a comeback there is still a lot of people saying “doesn’t that game suck?”

So as a huge fan of this series I beg that you maybe delay launch if your not feeling confident about the product and allow for some outside testing?

I've been concerned by this too, but the devs have said that they are and have been doing countless stress testing within their own studio. It's not much to go off of, but it proves that they themselves are already concerned, and are taking action to help it go as smoothly as possible. The game has already been delayed once, so I hope that time was used wisely to help iron out possible issues like you have outlined.

Development on Helldivers 2 began in 2016, with some work tracing back to 2015 - mabey they nailed it and there is no need for outside testing as you wrote. We will see when it's out.

Public betas aren't always necessary. Not a bad sign if they had a good QA team. Public betas used to be completely unheard of in game development.

Yes but also games used to be FAR less complicated and the fan base used to be far more forgiving

Not saying it’s necessary here just a little worrying considering the details

Oh sweet summer child, you are paying for their beta with the 'release.'

remember kids, no preorders!
Open betas are actually not that common in the grand scheme of things.

i am glad the launch went well, my worries where unfounded.

all in all they delivered a polished game, most issues could be attributed to the server load and the success of the game
