Call in a mech and you aggro everything within like a 150m radius even if you dont shoot at them.
Somewhat joke aside, I agree that it would be nice if they could add something that made enemies more likely to target you over others, if I am stomping around in a heavy armor and BallShield I kinda want the enemies to be shooting me rather than my fellow light armor divers.
Ideally it would not be tied to specific armor or equipment like the BallShield, sometimes you might want to use them without being the beacon drawing most of the enemy attention. Perhaps one day we will get additional "utility" slots with little gadgets we can bring with us and one of those could do the job of increasing your aggro.
Just make noise if you want to be the center of attention. Sprint, instead of walking/crouching/crawling, remain in LOS, fire your primary (except xbow). Throw grenades, drop call ins near you. That's how you already get attention.
Sure, I'm gonna tell my whole squad to stop firing so I can drag the whole cluster out of their range. How about telling that to pubs...?
Terrible post.
They call it TANK-B8
I like the idea in theory. I play the tank in most games that let me, and since I can't in helldivers I leaned more into Field Medic instead. I'd probably make a load out for aggro tanking to go alongside the field medic if I had this.
However, I imagine most random squads would take Ishan's stance the way you worded it; consider it a troll pick. It would be regulated strictly to private lobbies where a team can plan around it.
If I were to make a suggestion to ammend it; change "Aggro range" to "increased threat." This would mean that the armor would not aggro enemies that would normally ignore you based on Stealth mechanics you're using. Instead, if/when the fight breaks out, the damage/noise you make as the one wearing the armor is considered "more of a threat" by the enemy AI and they will attack you more than your squad mates. In short: don't make it an anti-stealth armor, instead make it a perk that only occurs once Stealth has been broken naturally.
...or simply put, make the passive work (only) when the armor wearer is close to the squadmates.
"the wearer is more likely to be targeted by enemys over other teammates"
and slap on extra padding or some shii lol
Be it the intention or not, wording it that enemies are hyper aware of you specifically does mean you get bogged down in combat more, which most random wouldn't appreciate.
I'd actually say no to that one. Just make it so that the noise you make is more likely to be noticed mid-battle. "Close to squadmates" leaves so much more to interpretation, and imagine a Helldiver standing on a hill 100 meters away from the bots, 150 away from his team, firing off an MG-43 and shouting "Come and get some, you socialist scum!" And this actually working to stop them from overrunning the rest of the squad.
Just take distance out of it. If they are aware of your location (Stealth is already broken) they are more likely to change target to you if you are making noise and firing at them, than your teammates.
That's my thoughts anyway. I do like the idea of tank-minded armor. Just needs to be implemented in a way that makes it a viable pick without invalidating anything else, or being invalidated because of what it does.
That doesn't change that even if they have to deal with the Patrol aggro.. the entire team will likely have to deal with the Reinforcement Call ins. Leading to unnecessary fights.
If you wanted a "tank" armor, you could just make it a perk that increases a players threat priority. A simple multiplier.
Their detection range wouldn't be affected. They'd still have normal detection range, but once aggroed, they and their actions would be "more threatening" to the enemy.
Increasing the range at which you can be detected is just a terrible idea.
I don't see the problem. I mean, aside of you not wanting to communicate with your team.
Turn on your microphone and relay your plan to them in a cordial manner? Chat can also work, but chances are they don't pay attention to chat.
Armour should be coloured violet pink. :D
