Bugs. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Suck.
Call it skill issue, jester me, say whatever you like but you crayon munching, slop chewing, barely sentient troglodytes (bug-divers) can be praised for one thing only. Enjoying a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abysmal faction. Squids and Bots are fun, squids may have some kinks, and bots can be tedious but I'll be damned if I ever say I enjoy bugs unironically. Bugs can reinforce from nearly 40% of their roster. From Scavengers all the way up to Alpha Commanders. And while you have to deal with their chaff, the ninja ass chargers come up out of nowhere to stomp you. I should not have to run fire or six+ chaff clearing weapons and therms to deal with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nids. Their volume is high, and on top of that if you're fighting hunters or leapers, forget any air superiority and light armor you'd have because their jumps invalidate that ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ those future walking oil spigots and ♥♥♥♥ the mindless turds who stayed on NUBLARIA instead of helping Super Earth. Couldn't even get 20,000 people to focus on one planet to liberate in the absence of the bulk of Helldiver forces. SMFH.

Two words:

Gas Grenade.
Seriously Gas grenades change the entire feeling of a bug mission.

Bring Gas, Gas strike, Napalm Obrital, and the cookout shotgun and bugs will never bother you again. Bring one big rocket adjacent thing to shoot biles and charges and you are set.

Again, you lose access to thermites. Bring another AT support weapon? Not enough chaff clear. You can TRY to stick to your teammates in bug missions but they run off like they are rambo when in reality they're more like shaun of the dead.

Locking down two stratagems, my primary and my nades to deal with one faction is not fun. I don't like it I want to have a flexible loadout that can take care of multiple things. at the very least I'd concede gas nades being a good choice but with the volume of BT/Chargers/Imps it becomes a very bad idea to bring anything besides therms for on demand AT.

That's why you bring strats to clear chaff. Orbital gas and orbital gatling are roughly 60s and you can rotate between them. You only need one person with AT assuming they can land headshots. If you don't want to run AT, just bring the grenade launcher and wipe everything but a bile titan instantly.

I just use Sickle DE , EAT, Supply Pack, Napalm Barrage, 500kg, Incendiary impact and Grenade pistol.

These tools deal with any diff 10 bug mission.

until they reinforce. and you do. because you can't run because obj is right in the middle of forty warriors, twenty-three hunters, four chargers, an impaler, and your other teammate thinking a napalm barrage will fix it, but all it does is get you and them killed.

Doesn't sound too bad, but if you're not bringing fireproof armor for DE sickle, then you burn, if you do it limits what you can do. At least DE sickle doesn't have to worry about ammo.

okay, case closed, you don't know what you're talking about

when the big boy sickle released I used it almost exclusively for weeks without any fire armor even on fire planets and never had close to as many issues as you're implying there would be with that

This boils down to: I don't like to use the things that are good against bugs. That isn't a problem with bugs, it is a choice you've made based on your preferences.

I run gas strike and orbital napalm on 10s vs bugs. Everything else I bring is largely irrelevant because those two things make bugs largely harmless. Something to clean up weaklings and the random charger usually. Maybe a fun gun or explosive for bug holes. Same thing you do for any faction.
