Stop shooting down every single bot dropship with the quasar

SOMETIMES ITS HELPFULL YES I AGREE, because you can get them robots stuck and buy yourself some time, BUT only when they are far away.... YOU ARENT DELAYING ANYTHING IF THEY ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO SHOOT AT US

Shooting down dropships hides every single devastator, hulk and tank bellow the ship model, but they can shoot at you from behind it, the also dropship can protect them from stratagems like the eagle rockets, the orb railgun and spear rockets + some others that could easily kill them

Also you are far more likely to kill enemies if you shoot the dropship as soon as it arrives before the bots jump down, so its way better to use RR or EAT to take them down because of the quasar charge up time


If you want to shoot down a dropship think:

> is the dropship too close to me or my teammates?
> has the dropship already dropped all of the enemies and is about to fly away

if the awnser to both is no then you shoot, if the awser is yes then dont shoot

edit: reworded entire post because it was too long and people were only reading the title and a example i gave where somebody shot a dropship when it was already leaving and it almost crashed on me (no i wasnt standing under it)

If it drops on enemies it can damage them. And block them from advance so you can hit them with strats. Most people I see hit them around the time the bots drop. Though blocking an access point with a drop ship is a valid tactic.

And why are you under the drop ship? That normally means you didn't take up position after the bots called it in. So you are blocking stratagems and other means for players to deal with the threat.

Something tells me you're the kind of player who calls an airstrike on a patrol, dies to said patrol and gets tilted when you could've easily have avoided it.

maybe read the whole post before typing? i said some of those things

and to why i am under the drop ship

i waited for it, i impact naded all the enemies from behind a rock, and then kept moving (coincidentally bellow the dropship)

its like everyone found out yesterday that you could shoot down dropships and now everybody has to shoot down every single one of them even if its not helpfull to do it

i used to run RR all the time so i learned that you could do this a long time ago, but that also means i learned when i should do this, and most of the time it helps the enemy

If you want to shoot down a dropship think:

if the awnser to both is no then you shoot, if the awser is yes then dont

Now I will shoot them down deliberately, even when they're already leaving. ♥

Useful in High Value Asset tower defense, either blocks pathing if it lands just right on one of the first set of doors or bots just chill in a very far spot all mission and not shoot.

It is rather lame that there isn't more benefits towards shooting them down. It should at least significantly damage the units, if not out right kill them that it attempts to drop off every time. Maybe make it that dropships start slowing down significantly if you down enough so you're not getting overwelmed by enemies.

It does have a tendency to trap the bigger robots though, making them less of a threat unless they can see you to shoot you.
