In HD1 there are a new war when the current one ends, but this one seems to be more "guided", so something else can happen.
At this point, their next move should be to drop the illuminate and the cyborgs side by side. The illuminate for us screwing with their plans, and the cyborgs for us mercing their children (the automatons).
Curently the galactic map has at most 4 play arias with conected systems. The bot and bug frunt, the cyberstan aria and super earth and its suraunding systems the rest of the galaxy is not conected.
There will be a twist when the warbond comes out. Either illuminate or bots will retake cyberstan.
They can keep up a hand-written galactic story indefinitely. It's literally Joel's entire job lol.
And according to the latest dispacth engineers are send to scrape any intel left behind in the destroyed facilities for good measure
I say a plot twist will happen soon
