The Devs have stated that the game is in no way balanced around solo play and there are no mechanics on the back end to adjust for solo play. Like the game automatically adjusting HP, spawn rate, armor, or anything else you could adjust to auto "balance" the game.
Your only way to adjust difficulty is to change your mission difficulty level! If you are playing solo Helldive missions or any level of mission and complaining it's too hard than that's on you!
(BTW, I can solo Helldive Bug missions so I completely disagree with your assessment) (At least I could at one point, I haven't tried again since they adjusted the spawn mechanics and patrol rates. And I can't solo a whole series of missions because of type and selection. Like missile launch is easy to solo but, extract the civilians is crazy hard solo on Helldive and really, that's what the difficulty should be.)
I just wish they finally fixed their friend system. I still can't add people.
1. Balance the game based on players in a game <-- Best option
2. Remove difficulty based sample collecting or add an exchange <--Easiest option
3. Completely remove the option to dive solo. <-- Nuclear option
