Sea of Thieves has that problem, any new content they drop that you pay for with money is just instant unlocked by veteran players.
looks like you can buy the first full page of a warbone with this, or cherry pick the first 2 pages of the new warbond.
don't see a problem there
In reality, this is a bad practice which causes people to go 'well, I'm not getting anything, so I guess I am done playing'. It's weird that people think that by locking the amount of tokens that it will boost their player numbers. In actuality, this causes an increased chance the player will find something else to do in between and not come back at all.
so you rather them get all of the ♥♥♥♥ in one go and not have anything to do/work towards. this is the EXACT problem with people in Destiny 2. they max out everything, prep for the next season with a bunch of completed bounties, then basically get to level 100 in one go and BOOM, in less then a week they have nothing to do because they maxed out the season. Then they ♥♥♥♥♥ and whine about not having anything to do.
Having unlimited cap for medals would be bad design choice as people would unlock entire new content the moment it arrives.
So far, premium warbonds take about 680 medals to complete.
You can farm 250 medals just playing the game, over the course of a week, or less if you play it LOTS.
Just because the weapons/armour are unlocked does not mean you get to use them all at the same time all of the time, you still have to pick your loadout, and oftentimes, you only use 1-2 of the new warbond.
The main new content are usually just the weapons and grenade, armour is usually something that you already own effects wise, and most people don't really care about cosmetics as all the armour look very similar to one another.
if just unlocking weapons and grenades, there's usually no problem with just 250 medals, maybe a little more, which would be easily achieved with 2 daily order and 1 major order.
Essentially, everything worth unlocking can be done within the first week of normal standard play if you've already banked everything to max.
They should leave and find something else to do if the only thing they look forward to is to complete some inconsequential 'list' that does not add anything beyond different coloured pixels.
You play a game to have fun, not complete worthless lists that nobody gives a crap about 10 years later.
Right now, I still reminisce about the times I played dota or left4dead 2 with friends. I don't remember how many of whatever skins or items I collected, just the fun times when we did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Even couch coop games like overcooked I have far fonder memories than the current wow expansion.
I had more fun in the original WoW prior to any expansions. And same with diablo 2.
Those games retained my attention not because of novelty, but because of replayability and FUN. Novelty does not equate to fun. Look at Fortnite - no longer fun.
Lol, they're probably pulling ungodly long workdays to provide an incredibly fun game. At least we have free will and can not purchase it right? And I've banked enough in game currency so I can get it for free. That'll teach em.
And you would complain about "nothing left to do" if there's no cap and you can unlock everything the minute it releases.
Explain to me what they're supposed to do?
