Mad at the nerfs? Blame Alexus Kravchenko = Balancing Dev & Professional Clown
Come on inside and dump on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dev whose arrogance exceeds his competency.

Edit - People can say what they want about Spitz, but he wasn't hired as a professional, merely as an extremely online neckbeard who ran the HD1 Discord.

Alexus is a developer, and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ incompetent one at that. With some humility, he'd own up to the one good opportunity his short career has lucked into, but for some reason, his supreme arrogance leads him to believe he is better than his job and the players he is working for.

Any random intern with an internet connection, google (to teach them how to code as they work) and the desire to learn would be better than him, and probably work faster.

All we need is the codebase access permissions fed to hbyw618's sweat shop, and away we go.
Yea, it's right.

Tell us how you REALLY feel. . .
As to the game-balance state, it speaks for itself.
EVERY unique or stand-out feature has been removed (tho in the case of railgun also rolled-back but the new enemies and radiators remain over-tuned against it) and 90% of the weapons were made to be 10% stat-variants of their primary archetype (defender, JAR, puni-plas/scorch and incen-break vs literally everything else, those mentioned are only the "best" because the rest do the same thing less effectively and feel worse to use in every way while having effectively identical stats)

Alexus is the guy you hire when your product pipeline is in a crunch to the finish, and your game hits 10 times the projected sales, forcing you to hire anybody available in a mad scramble to play catch up.

He doesn't deserve to work on this game with the level of incompetency and contempt he displays.
Then who's better?
As much as I hate to say it, AI has a better understanding and putting 2 and 2 together, than the current balance fraud. If you ask it how to nerf a shotgun that is performing too well as a sniper, it will suggest to nerf it's range or damage falloff, proving straight away it is more valuable and helpful than the fraud currently sabotaging the game.

I asked chaptgpt for the fun of it, and here is its response:

Nerfing the stagger effect of a slug shotgun would primarily impact its effectiveness in close-quarters combat rather than its role as a sniper. Stagger effects are often more relevant in close-range encounters, where preventing enemies from getting too close or disrupting their attacks can be crucial.

To specifically address the slug shotgun's role as a sniper and reduce its effectiveness at long-range engagements, adjustments to accuracy, damage falloff, or projectile spread would be more appropriate. These changes would directly impact the weapon's ability to reliably hit distant targets and thus reduce its dominance in sniper-like roles.
The AI has no idea about the game or any context other than my question of whether nerfing the stagger would stop it from being a good sniper. Here's a link to the whole conversation[chat.openai.com]

Alexus knew nerfing the stagger would make it worse in CQB. He though nerfing the slugger's range would make it the same as the other two stagger shotguns, so he just turned it into a DMR instead. (You can find his posts about this on the Discord.)

Also, the reason he nerfed the Quasar so much less than the Railgun is that he was involved with the Quasar development and it was his favorite weapon.

Finally, he nerfed the AoE on the Crossbow and Eruptor because he didn't that people were aiming at the enemies' feet to maximize damage in some cases rather than always going for direct hits. He even claimed that getting 40 damage on every hit is better than getting between 100 and 1000 damage because it's more consistent.

I think removing the unique features to make every fun a generic AR is the worst part. The only way the "sidegrade warbond" system can work is if each warbond's weapons have gimmicks, but their lead balancing dev doesn't like gimmicks. He's done the same thing before. From an article on his previous game, 'He actively removed features from the game, such as hiding under beds and certain AI tricks, as he didn't like "One-Time Gimmicks"'

i don't know if this guy is responsible, but the balance is a mess. Recent secondary tweaks are actually quite ok, rest is just confusing. I think some people already notice and appreciate the conceptualization and design of some weapons clearly have some rl firearm knowledge baked in, then you come to the stats/balance and rethink that assumption. He needs to consult the people with that knowledge and understand the intended design/role of the weapon, and not nerf aspects of it that ruin it's uniqueness/feel which in turn makes it essentially just another copy with a different skin and nonsense stats. There's just no coherence, like AR23C being a long barrel two hander AR with larger caliber rounds, but is inferior to little pummeler smg in all aspects. I don't see why the AR23C can't be upped in damage since it's already firing so slow. Ultimately you want guns to do different things, because having 15 toys to choose from everytime you dive is fun. If the balance don't account for realism, differentiating roles, nor fun.. just dps and usage, what are you doing mate?

He removed gimmicks like hiding in Hello Neighbor because he hates them, he's doing the same thing here.
