I don't trust myself with impact nade, but, I believe you and I'm glad to hear they're good.
After weeks, I finally dropped my trusty stun nades and I'm having a literal blast with these.
But my perception might be clouded here because of the DoT fix and I need to try regular fire nades too now.
Only problem is when the fire damage nerf comes they probably won't be as great :/
Both fire grenades are the same. One just happens to blow after 2.9 seconds regardless of it hit the ground already. If you are throwing high and far you want impact. If you are throwing less than that you might as well use the fuse timed variant so you can double use for objectives.
I like to throw one down on bug breaches with a gas cloud strike and walk away. Count to 5 and throw another grenade. 30+ kills. Mop up the stragglers with primary. Got a lot on your tail as you go to cross a choke point on the map? 50+ kills easy.
The new impact grenade is also interesting, quite good for breaches. However I suspect they will significantly nerf all fire weapons now that the damage over time bug is fixed. For whatever reason they buffed fire again and again before instead of fixing the bug.
